I just went with my family to a walking path in Bellingham. It's not paved but it's totally NOT a trail either. My wife and kid were going with me. Actually I wouldn't even call it a median voyage but don't worry I'll be hitting the trails soon!

    Thanks!

So pending everyone's timing and schedule, looks like this coming weekend should be good weather wise for a local ride? May be advantageous to hit up West Hill Dam for a more mellow trail ride - would be great to put some faces to names and get to know everyone. I can make either day or time work - but if people are able to throw out times they are not available as the weekend gets closer, I can see what works best.

I should be in! I have some 'blackout times' for little league. I know there's a practice on Saturday at some point and a gathering on Sunday morning. I'll know better in the next day or two but I'm hoping I can make either day work also.

I'm actually planning to be down in MA on Saturday _AND_ already planning a ride with some friends at WHD. We haven't nailed a time down yet, but I was leaning toward a 12-1pm start.

I mean, if you're around and already going for a ride and don't mind a +1 or so.............

Let me know the details once you have something locked down - I have pretty good flexibility this weekend.

I was gonna say, can I be 'or so...' That timing may work out also, just waiting on one commitment.

Nailed down a 1pm start time at West Hill Dam on this Saturday (9/23) for anyone who's around. We're a very informal group though, and 1pm means "We need to get there at 1pm" to some people, so don't feel too rushed, however we usually only wait 5-10 minutes tops, so don't drag your feet unnecessarily either.

We'll meet at the main parking for the dam, I'm not even sure if the beach parking is open yet.

In my excitement of riding bikes, completely overlooked my wife needing to drive my mother-in-law to the airport, leaving the house around 2:00 PM. Working on getting kid coverage for the ride - here's to hoping!

@BadDNA do you still have the smittybuilt rtt? Still like it, any issues with it? Wife wants one as she says she'll campnif we had one (this remains to be seen...) . Iirc you had the annex too, how much of a pain is it to setup setup/ breakdown. I'm thinking I'd stash the giblets down there for camping as opposed to up in the tent.

I'm very likely out for WHD tomorrow. I've got some stuff with my kids in the morning and have some repairs to make on the house that are fairly urgent. Sunday, I should be able to swing something in the afternoon. I have kid stuff until about 11ish and should be free afterwards (assuming I finish the house work on Saturday).

I do still have the Smittybuilt tent but no annex. I've got no major complaints with the tent. I made a couple of changes to it, replaced the mattress with an Exped Megamat Duo, and after using it a few times noticed some of the bolt heads at the pivots were wearing holes and causing leaks in the sidewall, so I replaced them with some round-head hex-socket bolts. There have been some updates to the Smittybuilt since I got mine, the new ladder is an improvement over mine, but I'm not sure what else has changed. Overall, I'd buy it again.

I do have an ARB awning with the enclosed screen room, which I imagine is similar to the tent annex in terms of setup which isn't very difficult and would be perfect for an 'adults upstairs and kids downstairs' arrangement.
