Come up on the 18th. I broke my back 2 years ago so I have not been boarding since and I am going to be taking it easy. You can hang with me and my girl. She is decent but Because of my back I think I will be sticking with the easy-er stuff.

I have 305/65/17 tires... will a 285/70/17 be fine as a spare? in case of flat and the what not?

Just asking because they are $70-$100 cheaper

A few guys are going to be in the north star / sierra area from the 19th on. And there is also a guy who is living in incline right now from here, but not sure of his screen name. Also there is a trail run on the 18th in Verdi, just outside of truckee and northstar.

There is really nothing in Sonoma County. Your going to have to head up into Ukiah to find some. Take 20 to potter valley road on your way into Lake Pillsbury. About 1 hour 30 mins away from santa rosa. Its pretty moderate stuff so i wouldn't worry about getting stuck if your the only truck going.

Yea you will need chains or 4x4, pinecrest is right by dodge ridges entrance and next to the sonora pass chains are a requirment

Or if you want to just play around in the mud and try a few hill climbs you can go to Hanna Ranch on 37 right off 101 in Novato.

Seth stop whining! When I learned when I was 16 all my friends took me down once and showed me the ropes then ditched me for 6 hours. You ride on your own for a few hours you learn to fall properly (LOL) and turn. The next time you go you can keep up as long as people who know the trails tell you before you get stuck on a flat spot

my stepdad is going to get me some for christmas and he said that everywhere he has looked they have all reccomended to get tire cables. When i thought they were POS but he said that they are better now... but i wonder if there is a traction difference between chains and cables?

    WELLLLLLL...

I did that exact drive about 6 years ago on December 30th when I had my old 96 tacoma rear wheel drive only. I had cable chains because they are supposedly easier to install. Well I put them on and ended up losing one! Had to walk down the highway to find it in the snow. However they are easy to install you lay them out in front of the wheel drive ontop of them and hooke them on tight, but for an extra 10 bucks you can buy (I dont know what its called) but its a bungee cable that will connect around the chain on the face of the wheel and tighten it for a more snug fit. I would recommend buying this!

Do any of you know how much chains run for 33's?
