Grab a map and just start driving. There's lots of roads up there and none are very technical. Although the two I recommend probably shouldn't be done with an F250.

Also, most just opened 6/15, and some don't open until 7/01.

Bring a chainsaw. Lots of deadfall up there. I just cut close to 100 trees off a singletrack on the dirt bike this weekend.

Depending on how long you're staying, it might be worth working your way north to the Sierra Madres. Lots of cool stuff up there - probably some snow still too.

That's what I was hoping to hear ha. Good to know about the chainsaw and we won't be up there until the 10th so probably not much snow left by then.

What are the two you recommend?

Camping 4 days up there closer to 4th of July by Teal lake area. All capable vehicles, winches, etc

It's pretty rough and tight between Diamond Park and the top of Farwell. I wouldn't take an F250 there. Doing an out and back to the top from Hahns Peak or Little Red should be fine. It also will have lots of downed trees on it until I can get around to clearing it. I've been the first through that section every year for the last several years.

There's nothing up here that will challenge a built Tacoma unfortunately. The FR409 loop over Farwell aforementioned is pretty good. FR499 - Ellis Jeep Trail (unfortunately rerouted a few years ago). Still interesting, but not that great.

Also, I kinda doubt Buff pass will be open for the 4th. FS is really strict about that road as there's tons of traffic and people slumming it up there. So Teal lake isn't exactly close. You can come in from the North by Hog Park though.

Anyone in the IT field looking for a new place to work? I'm hiring 4 sys admins, 2 out of Westminster to either work out of Fort Collins or Westminster while at times needing to physically visit the site you aren't mainly at. I will also have 2 at the Denver Tech Center. FoCo and Westminster are not cleared positions, DTC requires TS/SCI clearance along with poly and Security + Cert. If you would like more info shoot me a message. The job reqs were frozen but have since been lifted.

Probably doesn't help you, but I have a bunch I don't need. Not quite a full set IIRC.

If you don't find any closer I can put them in a box and send them your way.
