can you weld a nut to the rounded plug and use it? Prolly have to do that to the new one someday anyway.

No welder otherwise I would! Heading to Pedersen this afternoon to grab a new plug.... and back up for when the new one strips out again.

    Stuff. Also things.
Just an FYI, but I picked up this Lexus plug with an external hex on it to swap out my BS Allen head Tacoma plug the next time I drain and fill my front diff. Just an option for you that isn’t just another one of the shitty plugs that always seem to want to strip out. I can’t 100% confirm the interchangeability, but it was worth the ~$20 risk to me.

Pedersen might even have one there in stock.

I've got x2 plugs ready for pickup at Pedersen at this time. If(when) the first one rounds out, I'll likely just go with Brett's approach and weld a nut to it.

Any diesel shop recommendations? Since the Tacoma is somewhat dailyable at the moment and I’m about to have a squeaky clean brand new driveway I need to have my diesel, coolant, and power steering fluid leaks fixed. I have spent $500 in parts trying to fix the diesel leak and have eliminated like 3 so whatever is still leaking needs to be someone else’s problem

Thanks man, I didn’t know that. They have been good to me so far. They found a cracked fuel pump and replaced it. It was still leaking (a lot less, but leaking) so I took it back and the next day they replaced all of the fuel lines for free. Still leaking a little. After that the only thing they didn’t replace is my fuel bowl. I replaced that a month or two ago with a reman, and it looks like that’s leaking too. They are giving me a discounted labor rate on going to an e fuel set up to get rid of all of the annoying leaking that these fuel bowls are known for. The mechanic said he works on 7.3s every day and has never had one fight this hard to keep leaking fuel.

I’m also having a start up problem that’s pointing towards being a weak HPOP, so when the time comes for that I’ll hit you up for some help

I think I got the correct socket for the hpop. Or so the friend said it was for.

Awesome. After dropping the coin to pay labor on a truck for the second time in my life, the wallet is definitely feeling too light to pay a shop to do the HPOP

Does anyone have the proper crimper for doing weatherpack connector terminals they would be willing to loan out for a week?

Anyone have an idea of Moody Hill conditions this time of year? Also curious if fire closures are still in effect.

    Closed.

The USFS website is the authoritative source on this. If you don't see it on there, call the specific ranger district to confirm.

Thanks from a lazy, uninformed individual. For some reason I thought Moody Hill had nuance with access (private) and possibly didn't fit the closure bill. Guess not.

No problem. I work with city/county/state/federal data and info all day so I know how to find it in most cases.

In general, it’s not easy to find most of the time - especially if you’re not very familiar of the land ownership of where you are looking for.

Any preferred mobile windshield replacement providers up in this area that aren't Safelite? It's time to replace mine before it falls in on me down the interstate.
