Thanks Andy. Yeah, URD is the only place I really knew of and they have been out of stock for awhile like you said. I just imagined there was probably more than one company making something a little better than stock, but wasn't sure. I don't need to go crazy, but I figured a little upgrade would be worth it to me.

Apparently Spec is a preferred option over URD.

I grew up down the street from spec in Alabama and know their owner and many former employees well... I ran their clutch in previous cars and have nothing but good things to say about them

i did the URD twin disc and DO NOT recommend. too much of an on/off switch for an offroad rig. eventually i'll swap down to something more manageable... having a dual case is a saving grace.

Would anybody in the Loveland area be willing to help me out and weld up the frame by the front side leaf spring mount? I don't have pictures of the frame but I could get some if needed. Miss taking this old thing out :(

What happened? Is it from frame rot (rust) or something else?

They are pretty easy. Biggest pain is getting them upright. I've done one before but I was also the helper and had an experienced guy doing the smart work. What size is it?

Looking at various options in the 7-9k range and haven't decided what to do yet...it seems like a lot of options are the same lift rebranded by various distributors.

It would be going over a pit so I'd probably do a clear floor but height becomes a limitation in that case.

Due to the location it will be a pain to unload without a forklift so I'm somewhat interested in a delivery+install service out of laziness :)

I've been seeing used rotary stuff popping up but I am wary of it

10 years ago I spent a summer in a fab shop and the owner got a deal on a used 8k lift. That deal didn't last too long because the cables on one side broke and dumped his truck through the wall of the shop lol

Mine is a 10K Rotary I got used and the only problem was the new capacitor I put in for the motor failed and burned up the motor, $500 later and GTG. :anonymous:

What is your height restriction and how thick is the concrete? Bendpak has a few great low ceiling clear span floor options. Don't' be scared to cut the concrete and put in a footer for the posts.

FYI I DIY'd mine, break down and install. Only had friends to help stand up the posts. It's not that hard to put together.

And if you decide you want to do some footings, let me know and I’ll bring a demo saw and jack hammer over to cut up and remove your concrete

This is a long shot but anyone in the Fort Collins area have a spare drain plug for an 1st gen ('99) automatic transmission lying around? Leaving for a trip tomorrow and I was hopping to take my truck.

I've got one on order at Pedersen that'll be in on Saturday, couldn't find any other auto parts stores locally. I found some grade 10.9 m10x1.5 bolts that I could cut down but the plug and pan threads are so suspect to begin with I don't trust the 10.9 bolt to just strip it the rest of the way. Might need a new pan....

(edit) The pan threads might be salvageable and I found a M10x1.5 tap I could borrow so I'll probably just be waiting for the new plug before moving on to more drastic measures.
