When I turned 21, I did the whole 21 shots. I thought that I was dying. I got sick every hour on the hour for the next 2 days. Talk about a hang over from hell. Never again doing that! Where did you go out to?

Good news, just bought a new truck cap. Well its not new, but I found it on a used 06Tacoma at Kings Toyota. Going tonight to pick it up, I'm pretty excited. Got it for a really good deal. Pics will follow as soon as I get home!

Good deal, that topper looks great. Now your dogs will have a place to ride when you've got other peeps in the cab.

Thanks everyone, I really cannot wait to see it 2maro in the day light. I'm still shocked at the deal I got on this thing. I do need to do a few minor adjustments to get it on there straight, but I was freezing and just wanted to get home. I also need to figure out how to hook up the high mounted brake light and the seal on the very front of the bed. I'll probably call a few places and see if I can just have someone hook up the light and put the foam weather stripping in the front. It will be so nice to be able to put the dogs in there and keep the inside of my truck clean :) even though I think my dogs are going to be pissed they aren't able to ride shotgun anymore. The whole truck looks completely different. I mean it looks huge, but from what I've seen i'm really liking the looks. My tires have performed great. I was hoping for a little more snow to see how they would do, but the roads here are mostly just wet.

does it have the windows up front on it or does it have just a big open area with this big rubber seal that goes up against the back of the truck's cab? I was just in a taco dc lb that had that set up. It was nice because you could access the cab or bed just through the sliding glass window but damn did that rubber seal squeak like crazy against the cab.

^ The front window of the cap has a sliding window which is nice, but it doesn't have the rubber boot that connect the cab/cap. I've heard that the rubber seal makes a lot of noise, but it would be nice to have then connected so my dogs dont freak out. I'm kind of curiouse to how they are going to handled it. Usually the whole time I'm driving they are in the front seat or trying to sit on my lap. I guess we will see, next time I take them somewhere.

my dogs are the same way. i bet like most dogs/kids they will throw a fit, but once the realize that they will not get what they want that they will calm down. or they could be happy to be with you. either way the will get it and look forward to it.

i am still looking for one around here. if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay? did you approach them about the cap or was it something that they were selling off of a trade-in?

To be honest I paid less than $500, but dont want anyone to know exactly what it was in the event that I decide I want to sell it (I know I can make some money). Basically what I did was looked on autotrader, ebay, cars.com for used Tacoma's in my area with a cap. Then I emailed the sellers asking them if they would be interested in selling the cap off the truck. Some dealerships said no, and a few said yes. I then found the closest dealership that said yes, and went and looked at it. Luckily they had no idea what the cap was worth, but said they typically have to take the caps off the truck for the buyers. score for me :) They gave me a number and I offered much less and surprisingly they took it and helped me install it.

yeah that rubber seal makes a TON of noise. I rode in the back seat with it last month on a camping trip and that thing squeaked like crazy and was really noisy. I would throw a rug or something back there that they can lay on so they are not on the cold hard plastic.
