I went to Tire Discounters and talked to them they seemed cool. I have a friend that is a Toyota tech that offered to help so I may be fine with the install. I was debating Toytecs 3" spacers and a add a leaf for the rear. I considered the 5100's but I thought maybe I would try the less expensive route first to see if it would meet my needs. I will only be doing mostly trails, nothing too hardcore. I'm still not sure.

if you can afford to not do them, then don't.

i've ran 3" spacers for 2 years now though and i wheel pretty hard. surprisingly they've done good for me. i mean sure my ride sucks and i've been through 2 sets of upper and lower ball joints but if you HAVE to have them then have at it.

Go with the 5100s. You can get your front lift by adjusting the 5100s and don't need to buy both new shocks and coils. Best "cheap" route imo. Avoid the spacers if at all possible.

So you can use the stock springs with the Bilsteins? I will have to do some more reading. If that the case are their any problems running the stock springs? I was thinking about the Toytec kit where you use the stock top plate and AAL in the back. Would that be a good choice, that way it comes with the diff drop and drivers side spacer and Eibach springs? What about OME? Thanks for the help.

Yes you can use the stock springs. When I was looking at a 4 runner that was going to be my plan. Stock spring and 5100 billies. That is what a lot of guys on here do is the 5100/ aal. you pay a little more up front but it will save you from replacing ball joints and such later from spacers. I am not too familiar with eibach but Old Man Emu stuff is pretty nice. I have been in a few trucks with the OME lift. a few with spacers, and then the Cadillac of lifts with fox/king shocks. Obviously the fox/kings coilovers are going to be far superior to the others but if I had to drive a truck every day with either a spacer lift or 5100/ aal lift, Id go 5100/aal hands down just for comfort and knowing the truck is lifted properly and not stressing any other components.

Def read up on the lifts before making your decision. I say spend a little more money on the 5100 lift.

Yeah you can use the stock springs. I would put eibachs on instead if you can swing it. Stock springs and 5100s will be much better than spacers

First off, Merry Christmas to all! Update on my new front from James at RLC Welding and Fab in Louisville, KY

    http://www.rlcweldfab.com/

I got it back about 2 weeks ago and got it Line-X'ed about a week ago. Finally had to time to take some pictures today. James was great to work with and had a very good image for what I wanted.

This is was the first time he'd done a Tacoma bumper like this one and you'd think he'd done it dozens of times before. Anyone in the Louisville area would be doing themselves a favor giving him a call for you fabrication needs.

I'll be going back in a few months for skids, then later on for sliders and a new rear with swivel tire/gas can mount(s).

I just changed a front wheel bearing today. I was getting the mud terrain sound from all terrains. I'll have to check out that shotgun fabworks. It's about 5 minutes from my house and I'm looking for some rock sliders.

Don't think many people from this area wheel much.

    Just saying. :)

As long as I don't work I'm in.

Side note you went to 37's?! Nice, cant wait to see pics of that or hopefully just see it in person soon.
