When you said that you didn't like the cupholders I was shocked. I've had many cars and these have probably been the best. Glad you fixed it.

My 4Runner w/ the 3.4 at best got 16, most 14-15. When I got the Tacoma I was thinking it was going to be the same but it improved.

:woot: !! you gunna install them yourself? they are not too bad...though i would recommend a helper and to be honest i cheated and had NTB swap the springs for me once i got the assembly off, rather than fight with a spring compressor. i think they chraged me ~$50 for both. don't forget which spring is which!! they are specific to driver and passenger side. i marked my driver's side with a piece of masking tape. the springs have paint markings on them from the factory...but i was sure i'd forget which was which  what setting are you going to use? i saw in previous posts that you have put on an AAL...i would go 1.75"...you'll still have a slight rake, and in my opinion it looks just right...

    ----^^---- 1.75" w/TSB AAL

i'm still wanting to come down and meet up with you guys...but latey i've been busy as hell on the weekends. i have managed to get some work done on my trails. i spent about 3 hours this past sunday just trimming branches on a particular trail after my dad was complaining about them hitting his new Kubota RTV...no more pinstripers on that road! i still have lots to do, but am gonna try to get everything cleaned up so i can invite you all up this summer. i really, really want to finish up the one long trail...it will be the "piece de resistance" of my woods. i have no way to complete it till i can rent a dozer again. hoping in maybe a month or so, it'll be dry enough.

so when is the next "farm run"?

I think that me and a buddy are going to install them in his garage. But I'm not sure if he will have time. He has a spring compressor so I wont have to pay to get it done. I will have to get alignment done afterwards. I'm going to have mine set at either 1.75 or 1.25, but I'm not sure yet. My boat that I tow is pretty heavy (5500lbs) and idealy I would like to have the truck loaded with gear and the boat on and it be level. So I'm not sure yet as to what level 1.25 or 1.75 I'm going to go with. After looking at your truck I'm probably going to go more towards the 1.75 than the 1.25. I do want so forward rake, just not as much as I currently have. Did you get an alignment done afterwards, was they are problems after you did it?

When you are ready to have everyone up at your place, I'm sure we would be more than welcome to come up. I would really like to see what kind of trails you have. Me and a few others last weekend went down to my farm and finished a trail I had started a while ago. You can see some of the pictures in the post from last weekend. I usually go down to my farm about every 2-3 weeks and hang out while the dogs run around and swim Whenever I go I post on here to see if anyone is interested in going with me. I think we are going to try and get a meet together sometime around the end of June. Just keep an eye on this thread, and let me know if you decide to have a meet at your place!

get an alignment for sure. the 1.75 setting will change the camber to about 1 degree negative...this will make your truck handle funny and also it will eat up the outside edge of your tires in a hurry...especially if you tow that boat very much...which brings me to the question...what kind of boat do you have?? i ask b/c there is an excellent river for boating up here and i have a lot right on it complete with docks and my sandbar could possibly be used for a launch! (works fine for jet skis) does your truck sit level with the boat on it after the AAL? it will almost certainly have a bit of "bro stance" at 1.75", but i tend to think it will have it even at 1.25" i tow a mower on a utility trailer combined weighing ~3500lbs. and depending on what attachments i have on and where i position it on the trailer i have approximatley 1-2" of sag...which doesn't bother me. i drive a lot more without a trailer than with...so i don't mind if it looks a little "bro-ish" when towing :D are you running stock size tires? just wondering how the 4.0 does with 5k hooked to it. i have a Kubota that's ~3500 and would someday like to get a tandem axle trailer to haul it...but have wondered if this is asking a bit much of the truck...i know she's rated for 6500...it's just that i notice the drain of power with the trailer/mower on and 265-75's. i would also like to put airbags on sometime in the future...a buddy of mine put them on his Tundra and they work awesome.

    crap....lunch hour over

i have had zero issues with driveline vibe after 5100's. most that i see that have had a problem are at the highest setting...you'll be fine. you'll notice that the truck with handle a bit better on the road with the stiffer ride.

I have a 20ft Four Winns Sundowner. Its a Cuddy cab w/ the Volvo Penta 5.7 liter V8. Its a pretty big boat, you can see it in my pic gallery. The truck does ok towing it. I can def feel it back there, and I get about 9 mpg while towing it. But as far as power is concerned, I would say its adequate. It drops down into 3rd going up hills. Here in KY the hills can be very unforgiving. Before when I would put the boat on the back it would squat the ass end pretty much all the way down to the bump stops, now I would say its less than an inch lower, so it really doesn't move. With the boat on the back it still has the forward rake, but it much stiffer in the rear. I feel much safer towing with the AAL than before. even thought I've only towed it a few times since the rear AAL's were installed. I think that it will settle some more w/ time. I'm running the stock size tires, and I'm thinking that Ill probably go with the 1.75 in the front as I want to have some forward rake, and am def planning on getting an alignment. I cannot afford to replace these tires yet. Is the river near your property? What river is it? Is there an alternative boat ramp, b/c getting this thing out of the water takes all the traction I can get. If your property on the water is the same one with the trails and is close to the river, and if you decide to have a meet I could bring the boat and we could all head out on the boat for a while, maybe camp for a night. Its just a thought, nothing sounds more fun and off roading/boating.

Nice man!! Mine just came in yesterday!!:headbang: I'm going to try to get it all installed this weekend.

The plan is to head out to my uncles shop on Friday which is connected to a auto shop. I was going to start on the rear end first, and install the 5100's and the new leaf pack. Then I was going to do the front, cheat a little bit and have the auto shop assemble the shock and coil-over, then re-install. I was also thinking of having them repack my front hubs, and check out the bearings as well. Also, I was thinking of taking my CAT converter completely out. Not sure yet, but I'm pretty stoked!!!

Can't wait to show it off!

I look forward to seeing the results!!! :woot: Mine probably wont be in untill next week sometime, so it will probably be next weekend before I'm able to get them installed. I'm debating on just having the same place install the front that will be doing the alignment as I have never tried anything like this before. Once you get it done you'll have to let me know how hard it was to complete and of course some pictures. Good luck with the installation:taco:

our land is just across the street :) i grew up spending every summer weekend down there swimming, tubing & fishing. great memories. we haven't had a boat in the water since '99 though . my dad still has the boat, but she's not seaworthy anymore without some attention. it's a 19ft Lund open bow with an inboard Mercruiser V8. she's showing her age these days ('79 model IIRC), but was pretty pimp back in the day. there are ten locks on the Muskingum, but 2 are down right now. we used to take trips all the way down to the Ohio (bout 40 miles) and then camp on Blenerhasant sp? Island near Parkersberg. the lock right above us is closed and i think the other is two or three down river...not sure. i'm pretty sure there's a ramp in our pool that's still open just to the south of us. it would be a blast to get to do some boating again. we will most certainly have to explore this option. i'll have to find out exactly where we could launch and if there is still a fueling station...used to be two or three you could pull right up to and fuel up. we may have the makings of a pretty sweet outing! 4wheelin in the morning and boating in the PM!! i don't have any problem with people wanting to camp. the cabin has electricity, but no phone or running water. if several people wanted to come out, there's another large open lot across the street where our woods is if we would need the room. might even make some of those socal/arizona guys jealous! :D

Thats looks like it could be a great time!!! How many acres do you have? If you want to put some dates together and see if there is any interest, I would be in. I think you are only about 4 hours away. I wouldn't worry to much about the gas on the water though, I would just fill up (it has a 35 gallon tank) before I put it in the water, but the ramp part is a must. I dont think that I would be able to launch from the river bank. Hopefully we can put something like this together! :bananadance:
