Me, too! Just sucks when you get bit off. Here in Wisconsin some lakes tend to be loaded with hammer-handles. They're only fun for a little while

yeah the water has been up really high so maybe thats part of the problem...I know the water was a lot colder longer than previous years so Im hoping to make it out more. and it picks up!

Just found this picture. My PB; 41", 18#. Caught late in fall on a bull-dawg. Was like setting the hook in a stump! Super strong and fast.

Sadly it was gill hooked. It's on my wall now:)

I was debating on mounting it regardless. The fact that it bled to death helped with the decision. I've never seen that much blood in my life. we were originally trying to save it. We put it back in the water on a stringer, it kicked a few times and sank like a brick

gills bleed out quick. We usually keep them here, as theres no size limit and good eating. I want to catch a 20+lb pike, I'd prob get one mounted.

#4 for the season...about 4lbs...25" long. The bite is still slow but seems to be picking up slowly...maybe a post spawn lull? IDK....frustrating compared to last year this time.

I used to catch them in Germany. We would catch a perch and rarely get them in because the Pike would munch them.

yeah they like to eat them. Most of the Pike I caught last year had at least one but some had 2 perch in its stomach...and still bit the spoon or dead bait...LOL

I was up north fishing and kayaking the Chippewa River this past weekend. The mosquitoes are out!

Memorial day weekend I damn near got carried off by mosquitoes trying to catch the evening bite on Roche A Cri lake in Adams County. 90° that day and I had a sweater and jeans on to keep them off! And I was wearing almost an entire can of spray.
