If you feel like DIY, a harbor freight polisher and all required material can be had for ~$100. It's time consuming, but you'll save some precious mod money.

I dont have the know how....

plus there are some tough water spots on the 4Runner from the toxic ass rain in Hawaii... so I am just going to see how much someone would charge me to give it a good detail / wax etc...

I can understand that. Just to do my Subaru took 6 hours. That was wash-clay bar-compound-polish-wax. It looked damn good by the end though! I don't know what I'm doing either, but Chemical Guys makes great videos that I followed, and it came out good.

for $2k, I'd love to have some of what HE is smoking. even if he spent 10 hours on it... I'm not paying anyone $200 an hour for anything that doesnt involve some kind of open heart surgery.

From my experience, 75-100 is the starting price for any detail. For a full detail and correction with a sealer your like 600ish and a ceramic coating adds about another 200-300 on top of that. Glas-werks is so expensive becuase of the clientel. They do alot of rare cars with factory paint that cannot be messed up. He will spend an hour or two just measuring paint thicknesses before he even touches the car.
