We'll definitely need the tools. And whoever comes to the mod day, if they have any spare tools, impact, sockets, jacks, jackstands, breaker bars, etc that can be brought, I think we will need all the help we can get :)

yea, I kinda do enjoy trying / testing out different parts / mods to see if it's something I like.

a lot of times, I like it... sometimes, I hate it. haha

yea a couple socket sets, wrench set, and jack / jackstands would make our lives a lot easier. haha

good news... I took my bed bolts out this weekend to install my bed stiffeners... and they came out w/out a fuss. I hope that is indicative of the rest of the truck.

Funny you bring that up man, when I was swapping out my bedsides with another member 90% of his bolts were rusted out. This wasn't a problem with the bedsides themselves as they would just unscrew about 1/3 of the way and then snap once the exposed threads were trying to go through the embedded nuts. When we got to his bed bolts, those things were fucked...glad to hear with your truck as that shit is a pain when its the other way around.

I had to fix a bed on one of my old diesels.... and I had those exact problems.

I debated just lighting the truck on fire at times. haha

Dude they are icons and are likely stiffer than kings with being digressive...I would bet the 650s will be what you want as that is what I would shoot for with kings and they are progressively valved.

yep... and he's asking a reasonable price for them... so I am going to see how this Voodoo Rack thing plays out and then go from there on moving forward w/ Icons

Hell yea man sell that shit. Since you don't plan to have an RTT anyway, sooner or later the rack will prove to not be as beneficial as a cap or something that you are already looking for. Until you are ready to camp like crazy, then you got time on securing a cap. Suspension is always worth the investment as it instantly increases the ride, assuming that interests you.

cant really argue w/ that logic. haha

it'll be a year or 2 before I can get heavily into camping since camping w/ a 1.5 year old is awful.

and good suspension is ALWAYS worth the investment.

If you decide to go with the Icons, my feelings wont be hurt. I can still sell you the bumper and sliders (and all the other stuff, cant even remember what at this point haha), and just leave the lift on the truck to sell. I wouldn't blame you for going Icon instead of the ULK.

Well then I would consider you got plenty of time to get in on the right deal for a cap. Shit I wouldn't even be getting a custom bed rack if I didn't have an RTT right now which would make my rear LT plans immediate...but I want the function back for later on this year.

He can still do DC craigslist, its not too far of a drive. BTW @Me. Projekt how far is harpers ferry from chantilly? What time we starting on the 9th? Early is better for me.

nah man. either way, I'm buying your setup... I already have all of the money set aside.

what I'm debating on doing is selling my Voodoo Rack, and then buying @Arcticelf 's Icons and then putting the Toytec's up for sale to recoup some money.

that makes sense.... I appreciate the insightful advice.... I was actually looking over my build spreadsheet last night and asking myself "What direction do I want to go with this truck? How wild do I want to go???"

that's because everyone uses their stuff until it's beat to shit in WV.

Since you made a spreadsheet, care to divulge any end game ideas for the build? Cosmetic stuff like a rack and lights are cool, but as far as the guts with the truck what are your suspension, tires, gearing, etc. that you are looking into?

Ok not too bad. I am borderline loudoun county, near 28 and 50. 8 am would be fine. I could leave probably as early as 6 am. I won't have the kids since she is off that weekend, so I wouldn't have to take them.
