Still can't open carry a handgun though. 18 for long guns, 21 for handguns.

I love my XDm 40c. It's a little bulky for everyday carry for smaller guys but I just deal with it. There's been a lot of vehicle broken into around my place lately too. It's an uneasy feeling that you really can't do much about besides watch your driveway all night long.

Actually, VA law states that you must be 18 to purchase a long gun and 21 for a handguns. Possession is allowed at 18.

Head's up for everyone who owns a 2005-2011 Access Cab. I just got a recall notice for the front seat belt tensioners. I'm still waiting on the notice to take the truck in but if you have an access cab you may want to go to toyota.com/recalls and punch your VIN in to see if you are under the recall.

I would still argue that open carrying around town is just dumb. Open carrying just to "exercise your right" just makes you look like a douche. I would rather wait until I am 21 and can CC so that if I had to ever draw, the other dude doesn't know I am armed until I am putting rounds down range. It also just makes people uncomfortable, no matter how professionally you dress and act.

^ I feel the same. I don't want anyone to know that I'm carrying. The other day I was with my family at a local restaurant and there was a dude there with a 1911 on his hip with the hammer back. That's just not something I want to see with my kids in the same place. I'm all for CC but I don't personally feel the need to keep a round chambered and ready to go while I'm sitting at Starbucks... Something's are just a bit over kill in my opinion.

Well said Matt! Just like everyone has the right to call each other an a$$hole because they have the right of freedom of speech. People don't do it because it would be douchey. I am a lifelong NRA member and there are things I wouldn't do still. I still make fun of the guy that walked into a grocery store up here with an AR-15 strapped to his back.

Don't be that guy!!! Lol. I am all for CCP though!

CC is one thing but this guy is stupid. I am all for CC and never go anywhere without my SIG chambered. However walking around with the hammer back is just asking to blow your leg/ foot off. All it takes is one bump and anyone who shoots knows that mechanical safeties fail and fail often. That guy is just dumb and irresponsible. Just my two cents

Oh yeah! Back from Afghanistan! Felt so good to drive my truck again. Ordered my SCS Stealth 6's in Matte Gunmetal! Should be here in about 3 weeks. Can't wait to get those babies installed. Anyone interested in helping with an OME kit install in the mid November? I live in an apartment complex with no space to work and I could also use some expertise.
