My job is weird in that any day other than Friday that would be ok. But Fridays are the busiest days.

Smittys are great winches and are adequate for users like us who have it as a "just in case" and aren't out using it all the time running black rated trails.

In regards to the grease, the issue with it is that it becomes hard to free spool the winch when it's cold. It'll work just fine during the actual winching process.

With that being said, I own a smitty and took the time to regrease it. Only took a few hours and $5 worth of grease. Wasn't hard at all.

So many of you know I'm in highschool and have a Tacoma. i will be driving this tacoma or one similar to it across the country next year during my gap year. I have put a lot of thought into my build, I keeping coming back to the condition of my vehicle. I question whether it would make it across the US. It lived on a island of the coast of Massachusetts for the first three years of its life, exposing it to harsh sea salts expedaiting the rusting process and the life of the engine. The frame has a nice coat of rust all over and cracking in the welds. I get about 15 miles to the gallon on the highway and 11 in the city. At this point before I embark I'm seriously considering trading my it in for a 2015 trd pro. As always I'm asking for any thoughts on this.
PS I will post pictures of the frame and vehicle later on today.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Trust me... You do NOT want to break down in the middle of nowhere. No cell service a lot of places, and 1 vehicle every 30 minutes coming by. If you are heading cross country, make sure your vehicle is ready.

my opinion is sell it and go for the 2015 or hell.... you can get a 2016+ TRD off road for about the same price (and you can use almost all of your parts / build stuff on a newer truck :)

shit... if I was supercharged, that would be a full tank for me, I'd always be skinny pedal down.
