meh. that's some people's opinion... personally, I've had MANY of their products and they have always held up GREAT for me (which is why I chose their EZ deflator instead of ARB)

and the one thing of theirs I had that was faulty was their rear bumper / tire carrier for my JK, and the handle went bad on the swingout, and I took it up to 4wheelparts and they replaced it for free.

Just had the best interaction with 4 wheelparts in Richmond. Got my smittybilt tent with a 3 year no questions asked warranty for 737$. OUTSTANDING!

I recommend any style that bolt to the hood. Super duper easy to install.

I havent started doing my research yet.... what brands mount straight to the hood?

I want to avoid any cutting if possible

SOS concepts as well as relentless fab are two I know of for sure, and have installed. SOS on my truck and relentless on someone else's. I wouldn't recommend SOS though as they're pretty bulky and have this weird extra hole.

    SOS ones VVVVV

ahh I think the SOS ones have that extra hole if you want to bolt an extension on it for a GO pro or another light or whatever.... that's pretty solid.

They're pretty big holes, so really only good for an antenna. I'm probably gonna cut my extra hole off on each one. If you like the style though, you can buy the relentless fab ones since they're a bit cheaper, and we just trade.

I'm trying to see pros and cons of hood mount to the other style.... it's weird... a lot of mixed reviews

the only thing I've seen that people bitch about is in places like CO, WY, and other cold climates that it loses heat and gets pretty cold at night? (duh)

but for around here, I'd order one in a heartbeat.

There's really no cons that I can see for the hood one. Install literally takes 5 minutes, and no trimming at all. I had the other style on my previous truck, and trimming the cowl was annoying

that makes sense why the hood mounts are a little more expensive (only like $15-$20)
