I can do some custom work for you if you would like. Let's chat offline. Would help if I could see it all in person.

Just let Joe (and me) know. I plan to be there by 9, and he said they should be done by 11, so I should be back in NoVa by 2 or so. Nothing else planned for the day, so I'd just need to know when/when to meet up.

They do take getting used to. Took me a few weeks before I stopped getting the back of my pants muddy / wet when I got out of my truck! It requires a slightly different dismount technique.

Y'all, do we have any meetups planned? I always seem to miss the dates. I want to put them on the calendar.

Hadn't thought of that... And I'm only 5' 7", so I'll need to adapt.

I am trying to find the video of a subaru outback smashing some 100,000 upgraded offroad vehicle I saw the other day.

That makes me think of this guy. There is an interview with a walk around his Forester on Youtube. He also has a build here. http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f115/overland-build-thread-567849/

I had a 07 Forester before the Taco. It was a truly great vehicle, but it wasn’t a truck. When it comes to these Subaru builds, I feel like you put in all this work to basically end up less capable than a stock Tacoma with some ATs on it. Still, pretty awesome rig if that’s what you're into, and definitely unique!

Ha - I bought a new 86 Suzuki Samurai back in the day. It was actually an awesome little truck for that era. Suspension was so stiff though that if you drove it like I did on California's concrete slab freeways it would begin to bounce on the seams at an increasing frequency until the tires started to chirp.
