Yeah, since my job is always on federal property weapons of any kind are a no go. Can't even keep them in my vehicle.

You cant even have a hatchet, or fire extenguisher, nothing. The knive blade length is less than 2 inches

 

Dc is garbage and id recommend staying as far the hell away from that mess as possible.

Yep I was thinking of applying for DC but most of my time is spent at school and I couldn't carry there anyways. Plus it was a hassle.

 

So I have secured employment, in Leesburg no less. No more commuting for me come August!

Haha! General practice. It's a smaller firm but it covers everything you (EDIT: might) need. I will be working in their litigation department, focusing on criminal defense and business/property/construction disputes.

Sorry for the late reply. Snagged the thompson center compass chambered in .308. Got Cabelas to pricematch it to Academy for $300, and the $75 rebate makes it a no brained. Optic wise I snagged the Primary Arms ACSS 4-14x44 FFP. I've wanted one for my EBR for a while so I snagged it to see how I like it. I'm going to go shoot on Tuesday. All in I'm at about $500 for a great hunting rifle.

 

@LocoLocal are you still considering joining the reserves?

 

It is still in the back of my mind, but now that I have secured employment, it is back at the forefront, and I need to discuss it with the new employer. Originally I had thought I was going to keep working for a government agency in which case it wouldn't be an issue, but now that it is a private I am not sure what their views are, or if they have any reason or are legally able to object to me joining. The second part of the answer is, if they object in the beginning, I would try to establish myself and then at that point join in a couple of years (I have 11 more years of "eligibility"). Sorry for the long-winded answer.

 

Although it's considerate to think of their views, you've got the law on your side. There can be no repercussions for you electing to join. Check out ESGR.mil
