The button works. I've used it in mine before. You're not setting the alert pressure; you're setting what the normal pressure is. Then the light comes on when the pressure drops a certain amount. I want to say that it needs to drop 5 or 10 psi, but I don't remember what the exact pressure drop is.

Swap in a transfer case from an automatic FJ Cruiser, and you'll have a handle to pull.
