How about a progressive pack? Same, same? No real benefit for the B110s?

Correct, no real benefit. The stock leaf pack is the limiting factor on flex and aal don’t change that. So if you did an aal I would recommend just any regular replacement shock like 5100 or ome.

Roger that. Thanks! And since my hope is to have this installed (whatever I end up buying) by you prior to me getting back home if I can get you and my wife to link up, you have a spring compressor, correct?

Awesome.. One last question, if I do decide on just 5100s and an AAL, progressive will offer a bit better ride over a single AAL, correct?

Yep! The progressive will ride a little smoother than a single. With that said, I’ve installed a few single aal (including both my trucks) and had no complaints.

Plus its a truck, not a cadillac
My single AAL had broken in half on one side of my truck. Who knows when and where that half a leaf went :notsure:

@EatSleepTacos does Mobtown only sell skid plates for the 3rd Gen armor? And what does IFS mean? I also saw some other acronym but can't recall it. Thanks.

For third gens they offer front and rear bumpers, rock sliders and the main three skid plates in terms of armor.

Fuel tank skid is almost available. I’m running the prototype right now.

IFS means independent front suspension. So in regards to a skid, that’s the front skid plate. The main, big one. Behind that is the transmission skid and behind that the transfer case skid. Here’s all my three so you can kinda see what I’m talking about.

    Thanks for that.

I don't see anywhere on their website to order the other two for the transmission and transfer case, only for the 2nd Gen Taco.

So the skids for 2nd and 3rd gens are identical with the only difference being the oil filter cut out on the ifs. If you notice, the transmission and t case skid say “2005-current” so that’s the one you’d buy.

:anonymous: Sorry, but I'm full of questions this morning...any idea weight savings aluminum vs. steel? I can see the cost savings...
Do you know if adding the front and transmission skids will be so heavy that I may need to upgrade shocks? I currently have Billie 5100's all around.

I don’t know exact numbers but it’s aboit half the weight, maybe 60%. A full set of steel with reinforcements maybe weights 150 lbs and a full set of aluminum 80? These are rough guesses. It also comes down to how you’ll use them. Quite a few people end up buying aluminum and switching to steel because the aluminum wasn’t quite what they needed. For someone who has no intention to do any hard off roading, aluminum is the way to go.

Also imo the skids aren’t a place to save weight. With the weight so low and distributed, you don’t even know it’s there.

Might want to post in the NE forum too. Maybe some of them have stuff that could be expressed down to you. I know you have helped express tons of stuff up to them.
