I usually go out to a shop in ashburn that a friend manages, but i don't know if i'll have time to make it there this go round.

Well, depends what you want. If you just want to browse a huge selection, manasass has Virginia Arms, but my favorite due to service and knowledge is Blue Ridge Arms in chantilly. And they have a range too

Two i have been looking at closer are the Taurus 24/7 G2, and the Bersa Thunder 9. I've shot the Taurus, but haven't had a chance to fire the Bersa yet.

Anybody know what the laws are in VA for fog lights? I am in the process of installing a GrilleCraft and was thinking about throwing 2 lights behind it.

rules on fog/auxilary lights in VA:
1)you are allowed 2 headlights, and 2 foglights. all other lights (excluding amber marker lights) must be covered.
2)when your headlight highbeams turn on, all other lights (again, excluding marker lights) must automatically turn off

Every year, when you go in for your vehicle safety inspection, you either have to put covers on the lights, or just remove them,

technically, you could get pulled over for having extra lights on your truck that aren't covered. I personally have never been pulled over for extra lights (knock on wood), and i drive around with 9 extra forward facing lights. i just cover/take them off once a year for inspection.

Stupid amount of extra heavy metal all over
Like Colin said, basically you're not allowed to have more than 4 forward lights uncovered on the road.

Personally, I'm going on 7 years and never had an problem with enforcement of aux lights in VA (4 extra on my Tacoma, and 5 extra on my Subaru before that). Just make sure you never have more than 4 lights lit at anytime, pretty sure that would get you the wrong kind of attention real fast.

I've got my grill lights tied into the highbeams with an extra override off-switch. That way I never have to worry about more than 4 lights running at any time (since the fogs cut out automatically when the highbeams come on) and I can keep the grill lights disabled totally if I'm on anything but a completely deserted road.
