I don’t like that on the backside all the paint and frame coating will get burned off. Especially in the front boxed section.

True, but it wouldn’t be difficult to paint that. Or some bi annual fluid film treatment would keep that at bay as well.

I'm thinking of swapping mine to weld on. Can you think of any reason why someone might not want weld on? I plan on keeping my truck for it's useful life so selling it isn't a concern.

Not really. The main con of weld on as I see it, is they’re a little more work to remove if needed. But they’re certainly not permanent as a lot of people believe. That, and what Joe mentioned about burning the paint on the opposite side of the frame from the welding process. But that could be remedied

Haha, I should but I'm a glutton for punishment. I think I have a few more years left in the tank. Honestly, I'm giving myself options and waiting for the results of an upcoming promotion board; I'm not on it, but depending on how it pans out will dictate whether or not I stick around.

It looks like they tried to coat it right before a sale to hide what’s going on

That’s really the only picture out of 40 that shows the rust. I don’t think they intended on that one making its way into the ad

That looks pretty bad. I wonder if anyone has ever tried slathering the frame and slider with a heavy grease to keep water out.

    Problem solved.

Still not that easy to monitor the rust situation inside the frame. I’d rather be able to see what I’m working with. These frames rust way too easy.

I wouldn't think that anti seize would do well. I'd go with a heavy grease. Something intended for a marine application would probably do well.

Got a couple questions for y'all.

Before I sell my truck, should I reapply the badging?

Remove the Carhartt seat covers, sell them and clean the cloth seats?

I'm starting to get everything prepared for selling it now. I swapped the rear Weathertech liner for the stock rubber mats because the Weathertech is stained to shit with mud.
