As long as he has plenty of food and water, and doesn't carve his names into any rocks while he's broke as fuck on the trail for 3 days before somebody finds him, we won't read about him..... :bananadead:

The rear-end whine, the rear brake shudder, and the surging which all have TSBs and then a couple little rattles. I lost my shit at Ourisman Fairfax yesterday when it was clear the advisor ignored everything I said to duplicate the issues and then even left off two of the complaints. Trying to lie to me and get me to pay for something out of warranty put me over the edge.

It's all warranty work I'm 100% capable of fixing myself (former dealer tech and ASE master) other than the reflash but I'm not about to pay to fix my truck with less than 10k on the clock.

The md guys are doing a green ridge trip with some camping. I’ll be watching workers pack my shit up and attending my wife’s medical school graduation. And I guess @Darkgoatracer finally gets his truck back, and will probably promptly break it again.

It wouldn't bother me if he was just sticking to the scenic stuff. But he is planning on pushing his jeep to limits he hasn't done yet. And the fact that he laughed at me when I told him he shouldn't be doing that stuff alone...
He thinks that his winch will get him out of anything. but not everywhere in MOAB has trees to winch off of like we have on the east coast. I'm just hoping MOAB has good cell service because he will probably end up needing it.

Had that conversation with the better half last night haha. I waffled between the Toyotas when i bought it so it was always in the back of my mind.

I'm keeping the truck for another year to pay it down some more (no reason to pay sales tax twice) but I'm selling everything I have into it and it will either be a late model year 2020 T4R OR Premium or a JL 2-door Rubicon. Looking to move to Utah so I feel like I'm doing myself a disservice if I don't at least consider a jeep.

I just want it all fixed in the meantime but all the issues I've been having have left a bad taste. Loved my little 2rd gen and I'll likely be back in the fold when the 4th comes out but as much as I really want to love this truck, it doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Yeah I just got so pissed at Toyota for not fixing the issues and that's normal operating characteristics of the Transmission, vibrations, drive line shutter and the leaking diff that started to have a low howl....

You can check into the new J truck. I wouldn't buy the first run though. Just me. A Rubi has a sticker price of damn near 60k. Screw that!F01F239F-95C6-44C8-BA90-48674711B61E.jpg

I'll be honest. Between JK's and this truck, I think I'm going to have to stop saying I'm a Jeep guy.....:anonymous:

Thing is that if I want a Jeep and all the pain that comes with it, I want a Jeep that does Jeep stuff. With only two of us, it would be a 2-door where I'd rip out the rear seats and build another modular cargo platform. I'm not about to buy a truck I'd have to throw 37's on just to get ground clearance and I'm not about deal with Jeep problems just to do stuff I'd do in my Tacoma.

If I can't find a way to work a cargo system and dog platform into the 2-door, I'll probably have to go JLU or the T4R but the Jeep truck doesn't do it for me at that price and definitely not when the payload rating is less for a Gladiator Rubicon than in the JLU Rubicon.

I use Battlefield in Culpeper. I don’t have all of the issues you mentioned, but they did the TSB for the transmission no questions asked. Robbie is the service manager I see, thanks to the recommendation from @Casper66. Good luck!

    Haha! Agreed.
    Really, that bad? Nice.

Agreed. I was hoping for something else than a stretched out JLU.

Not gonna lie... I had high expirations for the J truck. I find this thing ugly as hell and worthless.
