Morning Gents.

Alright, which one of you guys has an OEM roof rack laying around in the garage/shed? Anybody? Or an old Yakima or Thule system?

I've got some 11' surf rods that need strapped to the roof before the end of the month, and I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on one of these Fleabay knockoff OEM racks. And the budget won't allow for a big boy roof rack at present.

Would 100 doll hairs for your OEM help expedite your Prinsu purchase?

 

I have a Thule system laying around along with some compatible Yakima parts. What exactly are you looking for? I also have a roof top Thule box that I pretty much have no use for any longer. Let me know your thoughts. If you have two piece rods you can make a protective case from PVC. I did that for my ten foot surf rods.

I'm interested. I bought some ski racks that I'm planning on using to hold the rods. Just need something to mount them to. What is your Thule/Yakima setup? I'm open to either the landing pads that bolt in, or the clamp on. Doesn't matter to me. Also, crossbars of course. May be interested in the box as well.

 

Perhaps I should have elaborated some. The setup isn't Tacoma specific -three different sets of feet used on a Honda Accord, Chrysler Pacifica and also a Ford Expedition. The one for the Accord uses the door jamb for securing while the other two were designed to sit inside the existing roof rack track on the Pacifica and Expeditioon. The box comes with locks and mounting hardware and is pretty solid and waterproof. It's somewhat dirty right now from sitting under the deck and has some stain that dripped on it.

Edit - Forgot to mention I have 48" and 58" Thule bars. *rough morning, sorry

 

I have a OEM lined up, but was looking for something to incorporate to level the height of the Yakima on my MX camper shell. Maybe @pabstsmeared and I need to get all these options together and work out what works best for each of our individual needs

 

Ha. No worries. So I think for my needs, adding in the fact that I'll have to buy the fit kits for the taco to make it work, I'm going to politely pass.

 

No worries. Now the world knows....guess I need to put them up in the marketplace.

 

Could work. If you find something that suits your needs better and decide to pass on that OEM, let me know.

The end of the month is going to be tough. I'd need to get my OEM rack off and my future Prinsu on in the same day so my roof doesn't leak. Unfortunately I just don't have that kind of free time right now unless I do it in the middle of the night.....with a baby monitor on the tailgate.

I thought that was more entertaining than just suggesting to put an M6 bolt in there with a washer and some silicone.
