It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I hope I get one of those letters.

16!?!? I’m lucky if I get 2-3 hours. Maybe that’s why I’ve been super grumpy

If you’re running stock pack, get standard 5100.

Has anyone seen or used the new Garmin overland GPS? There are reviews stating how great the forward views are but some of forest roads are missing. Downloading typos is also problematic as is the price...$700.00.

So I was just looking at cheap eBay tablets that have a USB port. The idea being that I can get an active USB GPS antenna and connect it to the tablet. As long as the tablet has a micro SD slot and Bluetooth then I should be able to load whatever I want on it and get a Bluetooth OBD2 reader.

As to the Garmin you referenced, I've seen positive reviews but almost everyone says it's a pain to download map segments and most say it's not worth the price tag. Maybe if you found one used it would be a good compromise....or use a 20% REI coupon for it....

If the garmin Gps had their inReach integrated I could understand the price tag a bit better, but it does not.

I think it's compatible though...meaning you can use the GPS to type the message and send it over the inreach device.

Has anyone done Blakey Road in Madison recently? Found this old word document from my advrider/bmwbmw bike days:
    2019-09-16_20-21-55.jpg
And then an old post from @Casper66

All the blog or forum posts were from early 2000's so not sure if that is still an accessible road.

Have you ever been at Phillip Carter off the Markham exit down 688?

Had always plans to coat my frame with some rubberized compound but after playing in the mudd with it its prob a bit too late.

Wish we could join for FlagPole this weekend but it had been planned out =(

Blakey Ridge is still viable. I haven’t been recently but @TaKoToy can tell you more. You will need either a hunting licens, fishing license, or a day pass which I have no idea where to get. I will say I have never been checked once going up there and there is free camping as well

I dont think they can mess with you much as it weaves in and out of national forest and has a public owned campground at the end. It is traversed by 2wd cars now that they repaired it.... check out bluff mountain road to the south if you want some fun !!!
