I will say driver skills go a hell of a long way. I've seen a guy multiple times out wheel a heavily modded first gen with a flatbed in his bone stock almost first gen with highway tires. Only mod done to it was an ARB bumper. The flatbed was lifted locked regeared bobbed and so on.

It's all part of the fun. About the only thing I haven't had my hands on in doing to these trucks is a SAS... yet. And believe me, I've had my fair share of bloody knuckles and sore throat from screaming profanities.

Thanks to 90yota I'm looking into the sua kit from dmz. I have no idea who would be able to do the work but it seems besides the shock it's pretty much a full kit with deavers, shackles, and bolts. It will be about 1.5 inches height over stock in the rear which is fine for me but i have heard it rides like a dream. I just don't know whether to man up and turn the rear into an long travel or just buy some 12s? Would love to have it long traveled but around here there may not be much of a point for that level of suspension.
Granted if I go long travel I will need bedsides...

Only reason I would do it is if you plan to go back west otherwise it's overkill for trails out here

Yeah! If your interested in it PM me. I start school in a week and won't have as much money so I might just throw on David's OME kit and some new tires for now. It's brand new and the relocation pieces are already mostly welded.

Can anyone confirm that we dont need the rear cats? I eventually want to change my exhaust, but the PO welded the TRD to the stock Y pipe. So if i want to change, ill have to get a Y pipe, and a catback. Or cut a brand new catback, which im not going to do

Why not just cut and weld in a new muffler?

Are you volunteering? I could be open to it, I just found a turndown one that I like. But I would get the reroute also. Cheaper than what URD is asking?

The URD is 425 and the exhaust is 325

How dare you copy me, there can be only one black/red tacoma in F'burg!! Haha, but on a serious note don't worry about copying. It's your truck, you do what you want in my opinion. That's one of the nice things about this website, usually someone has done the same thing you are planning on doing. So you can get a better visual, see what problems you can expect to have, etc. Which helps you get an idea on if it's something you want to do or not.
