Yeah, my neighbor had the same house as us just flipped and their garage is under the bedrooms and enters into the lower part of a tri-level...so you can't just build it off the side of the house or it would be odd.
This is what it looked like when we bought it and then 5 years later plus a repainted door.

I tried turning from Old Keene Mill RD onto Fairfax County Parkway during the rain earlier and whatever they've repaved it with DOES NOT cooperate with my tires at all. I shit you not, I literally was free spinning for 15 seconds after making the turn with only 1/4th throttle. Thank god nobody was coming at the time.

I am going to keep exploring, I have learned a lot. I wonder if looking at Jeep rear suspension designs is the way to go. There is a wealth of information on Jeep websites. Taco owners seem to just change to leaf under axle setups. But the 4 link system is the way to go to deal with all the problems associated with a “floating” axle. I understand why off roaders go with jeep rubricons. You get a solid front axle locking difs and coil springs plus lots of aftermarket equipment.

Thinking about all of the design elements that go into suspension systems to have a vehicle navigate over difficult terrain leads me to the conclusion that compromise is the way to go. Sure, the axle moves back and forth as the leaf spring flexes, the dif and driveshaft angle changes, the axle gets out of alignment with the frame, etc, but in the real world does that actually matter...just thinking?

for most..probably not. My truck spends more time off road than on and I exceed the limits of standard length leafs every time I drive around my property. My front suspension is long travel and the rear can’t keep up. This link system will be a better match to my front and make for a more uniform suspension system. That and I’ve already purchased everything and just waiting on the last of the parts to arrive. No turning back now!

got it...I need to explore how to design front and rear suspensions to get roll centers to work together and work dynamically. And to minimize roll moment.

@LocoLocal David’s harness looks like stock BD, those pins can plug into a waterproof case thing. These are The ones I bought when I redid everything. I might have the stock BD harness laying around though since I used a fuse block instead of the harness.

No. I cut off the bd connector, and bought a deutsch connector kit on Amazon

They should come with Deutsch connectors.

I recommend https://deutschconnectorstore.com/ for all your Deutsch needs. Makes it much more affordable.

We had a dude randomly drop dead at work one day. That'll make for a productive day.

I went with their Tacoma kit. The only lenses you should consider is the wide angle lenses. Why? Because people will flash the crap out of you if you don't. You'll still get it once in a while, but not near as much with the other lenses.
