Do the mounts work on knock offs to your knowledge?

I'd think cam strap might be easier/faster than having to mess with the rachet when you need to access them in less than ideal angles, etc.

I came up with what I think to be the perfect solution and haven't seen it on here yet. First, you somehow have 4 long bolts coming up that the boards nest on. Then to secure it, use one of these

    https://www.amazon.com/METAL-Anti-T...d_r=QKXG27S8G4EMQN5Z3CTB&psc=1&qid=1575839796

This way the bolts keep it from shifting around, and the strap holds it down. That way it's easy access, and no need to keep tracks of washers and nuts or other various ways I've seen people secure them.

    Not a clue

I like that I could easily add an extra set when I order these for when we get to toddler-proofing the house...hopefully by then I'll have at least a prinsu style rack to make use of...
I ended up grabbing the xbull boards for something stupid like $56 last week, hence the compatibility with maxxtrax

EDIT/UPDATE: Amazon Q&A answer said the maxxtrax and xbull mounting holes are compatible.

Good point and worth a try. I tried the ratchet straps with no brackets to hold them in place and they held very well. My concern would be, if you drove aroind with them on, the ratchets rusting and getting stuck. I may be able to fab a brackt system that would hold them and just secure them with the cam straps. Interesting idea

@EatSleepTacos I'm kinda thinking a 2 piece bracket mounted to the cross bars on the rack. Have tabs that would come up through th hand hold areas on each end of the traction boards and then further toward the middle have the straps mounted to secure them. The straps you linked would be perfect, depending on length, for this. Easy access and stowage

The straps have a range of something like 6"-36" so they'd be perfect

Yep that would do it. Just trim and burn off the extra.. I reckon I will have to draw up some ideas and see how it comes out
