One thing I’d worry about is swingout movement. It’s inevitable for a swingout to move around, fore and aft. Adding the weight and leverage that high it’d likely move even more. @Nimble9 has a bike on his swingout I think. Joel, have any input? I’d be up for the fabrication, just want to figure out a solution first.

well it’s a dual shear spindle, and gussets were added to the hitch mount and the swingout tab to ensure maximum strength.

I am still nervous if I have 2 bikes, a Trasharoo with wood and fuel and water on the swingout all at once. I typically don’t lol

Hm I see. I’d only have the bike up on the swingout when it is closed. Only for travel. Plus the bike is carbon and weighs about 15 pounds or so. I think it might be fine? What are y’all thinking?

I made mine to hold 2 enduro bikes plus the weight of the bike rack.

15 lb bike!? That thing an all carbon road thing? My regular sentinel is like 32 lbs lol

Damn that’s super light. I don’t think it would be an issue but let me ask my buddy joe. He would provide good input

maybe I’m vastly underestimating the weight of the bike. Regardless, by far one of my lightest bikes.

Awesome! Let me know what he has to say. Is it Joe from Mobtown? I’ve been wanting to go to their shop to see if they have any front hybrid bumpers in stock to get. Doubt it however

Yeah, that guy! No hybrids in stock, bumpers are rarely in stock. He said not to worry about stress on the swingout, but more so stress on the welds on the brackets that would be added. I have an idea though. So I can make that happen for you if you feel like making the drive down

Up from NC visiting family and did some trail riding this evening. Beautiful weather to get out and cruise in! Wanting to try out Taskers gap tomorrow since peters mill is closed. Is Taskers gap ok for a 2wd?

Well I'm from Colorado so I normally ride all the ski resorts (Breck, Vail, Keystone, etc) and sometimes Moab when I make the trip out there (Klondike Bluffs, Slickrock, Whole Enchilada, etc). Here in VA... I have no idea. still looking around for some trails that are local for weekend trips.
