I did say that. Completely forgot! We loaded the dogs and kids up and just started riding! Plan on going out today after lunch sometime to try Taskers gap. Are there any good fishing spots around? We didn’t bring anything with us but will next time for sure!

Fountainhead is really good, best in NoVa IMO. I've done Bryce a few times as well with my son who is a student at JMU (which is next door). Another good one is Frederick Watershed; its definitely worth the drive.

Fredericksburg also has a good trail system along the river.

Unless they changed it, the Tasker Gap side is ATV/SxS/moto only. I learned the hard way after making it pretty far into it many years ago.

You can run Taskers Gap. It’s an in an out. Done this a few times over the years.

The highlighted route you can be on.

Also.. The Forest Dept. is working from home as well. Not sure how that works. but if you need them, they will not be around for info or help.

Just ran it. The OHV trail is about 3/4 of a mile pass the atv parking at peters mill. Ran into another Tacoma and 4Runner near the end and just followed them out.

Hey just putting some ideas out there. I’m really wanting to help anyway I can with volunteering with the COVID-19 crisis but I don’t have much guidance. Are there any services providing food to the high risk population that could use hauling? I feel like we could utilize our trucks for the greater good but didn’t know where to start. If anyone has any ideas, I’d also like to get my kids involved to help instill a sense of community within them at a young age.

let’s put our heads together. There’s got to be something we can do.

I hear you. You probably won't like my answer though. The number 1 thing we can all do to help is not get infected. Right now we need to be focused on slowing the transmission rate. If you do get infected your number 1 goal should be to not infect anyone else. The problem with this is you won't know you're infected until you have already spread it. You need to always act like you are infected to reduce the likelihood of infecting others.

Unless you have the training and resources to achieve goal #1 while being out and about, you should stay home.

If you are infected, and recover from it, that would be the time to jump into the trenches and get out there.

    Just my 2 cents anyway.

Edit: Just to clarify, if there are organizations that have the training and resources to help you achieve goal #1 and they are asking for your help then by all means help them.

I share this sentiment. Rather than take individual actions on how we stay safe and don’t get infected, we should instead assume we are infected and do what we can not to spread it to others.

I wholly concur with both your sentiments! As much as this whole situation sucks, it really is the best COA. Even if you are one of the ones that are asymptomatic and never know...the key is not spreading it, so don't take the chance. Be safe everyone!

I tried to assume I was infected. Work thinks otherwise.

To help out I've just been tipping the crap out of anyone I can. It's not much, but I really don't know what else to do.

That’s a good way to help, and I’ve been trying to do something similar. Support the local restaurants via food delivery services when I normally wouldn’t use them. Give them business.

That and support your local businesses (if possible). I will admit I went and filled up a growler at Powers today...wiped down my growler before and after, kept my distance, and tipped well. They have a pretty good system in place and will start delivery soon (cans), which is awesome. Hope to do some delivery options with the local restaurants in the next few weeks.

Yesterday govna lifted some law and now restaurants can deliver alcohol. Or maybe it’s just for takeout. Now I just need to figure out how to order it.

Yeah, I like the ideas of supporting local businesses. My wife is in the service industry and I am just waiting for her to get laid off. Hoping the community can rally around these people.

I wish I could stay in but I am somehow deemed essential and have to go into work as we need a physical presence on site. At the least we have volunteered to cover shifts so others in higher risk categories can telework While we go down to a skeleton crew. These are crazy times. Wish there was more we can do.

I’m assuming I will get infected as I am in an office with high exposure to people from all over the world. Our office is usually one of their first stops when they get to the country.
