My thought process was -for something so simple, how can they possibly screw it up?

I'm guessing there was a problem in the forging process where something went out of spec?

You know i went to hf on saturday and their uniforms promoted quality tools and most of what they had on the shelf was a different brand comparable to a craftsman price point

They've come a long way. Alot of their stuff is pretty top quality nowadays.

Seems counter intuitive to their business model. I paid 110$ for a standard and metric set of crows feet.

Who knows? I really don't get much from them unless there's an instant need or something I'll only use a few times.

You must've hit their Icon line. Supposedly professional quality stuff.

Yeah! Thats what it was! It was like the normal harbor freight stuff on the shelves were just leftovers.

Yeah. I'm having a hard time swallowing the prices on that line of tools. I have a couple of cheaper brands that I trust more. They've tiered all their stuff. Some of it is the same garbage (like my welding cart) and some of it is way better. I've watched a few comparisons and in some of them the Icon line is as good or better than the tool truck stuff. So maybe they've got a winner.

Coincidentally, I just had a set of tires installed at the one in Chantilly today. I've never heard about the touch free method. I guess I dont really care if the technician touches it or not during the mounting process, but what do I know?

Edit: the only reason I go to Va Tire and Auto still is they price match tires (which I took advantage of), plus they have the 60 day ride guarantee, free rotations, etc. I don't trust them to do anything else other than tires, but it sounds like they can screw that up too from @boogie3478's post.

So here's a couple pics of the tires I got, Falken Wildpeak AT3W 265/75/16. Definitely an improvement over the stock Goodyears, can't wait to get them out on the trails! Just waiting on the Mobtown rock sliders to be finished fabricating and Phase I of my mods will be done.

On one set of wheels I could care less if they mar them. The other set are brand new and I'd like to keep them that way for a bit.

    Your new shoes look good!

I dropped off 1 spare tire to be mounted and balanced at 7am when they opened. They asked me the mileage of the vehicle that it was on. It doesnt matter, because it was the spare. It also took them until 8pm to get it done. I get that it was a walk-in, but shouldnt take them 13 hours to do that. I left them a 1 star review. The manager called me back and refunded me.
