You're probably too far in, but I got an insert for the center switches that takes keystone style plugs. Bought a keystone RJ45 jack and it looks factory and shiz.

i brought a tarp for overnight Saturday and will just get rained on on the drive home Sunday.

 

My spod uses the RJ45/cat5e cable too. But if i put it in the lower dash, id need a 4" cable, which no one has. I know I could make one, but i dont want to buy a tool just for that.

Right now, it's running through an empty hole. When I redo my dash, i have a 12+ lower center console that ill put in and maybe consider the keystone like you have.

 

You could try to strong magnets and plastic until you sew your windows.

 

If only you knew someone with said tool

At least it's a different failure mode. Looks like zero penetration on that weld where it spread apart.

Speaking of which I've got a couple of these for the narrow tall switch holes that I don't need if anyone going this weekend wants one.

Yea i am definitely interested. But im not going to get to that project until at least spring 2021. To replace that lower panel, i need to pull my radio, tech deck, and hvac stuff. I want to get some buttons too, and might even get a dvd player. Oh i also want to move my stock backup camera to the new head unit that i get. And thats a colossal project. (Unless thats easy for you, and I could just pay you like @Darkgoatracer does)
