I'll be in Richmond this weekend, any suggestions on beginner off-roading trails? Thanks!

@pabstsmeared @Hafaday I saw him post in Central VA and pointed him here and linked Peters Mill Run...aside from that I don't know about anything closer to RVA area.

How far are you willing to drive? 2.5 hours away is flagpole knob. You could take the "medium" way up, starting at switzer lake and drive upwards for about an hour which puts you at the top of a mountain with a cool overlook.

I'm going to add coordinates to this today. Make a little infographic that can be shared around whenever someone asks about FPK.

    Hell yeah.

Speaking of, I was hoping to go Monday but the weather looks like storms, storms, and more storms.

If Monday is clear and if anyone wants to tag along, I will be with a Tacoma (2nd gen OR)!

That's a good point, I forgot it's going to rain all weekend (probably) - This will be my first trail too so maybe I should wait until it's dry?

We should maybe do the same for Peters Mill/Taskers Gap and dots for the stores that have permits.

Anyone seen this Lexus Overland build on bring a trailer?

I prefer waiting as does the person I’m heading there with, as we are wholly unfamiliar with the trails. We might do the service road in the rain, but that’s a stretch (probably).

That's a great idea. I'm not as familiar with that one, so someone else would have to tackle it.

Stuff that my wife thinks I don't need.

I can't bring myself to look on BAT anymore. Even still I was on there yesterday and saw a billion cars I'd want. One of them, a nicely done '88 BMW M3 was way out of my price range, but there was an '83 GTI in Annapolis that was well within my price range. I need a bigger garage.

Then go down the easy way and check out reddish knob while you’re there!

If you search flagpole knob on google and Look at the directions it will most likely take you up the easy way take you up the easy way.

    edit: should have tagged @bmrylnd5
