I can definitely see that being the reason. Yeah, I wont be doing it. Probably just get a better cmc and skip the shock relocate. That money will go toward the next vehicle.

 

Well for me at least, I charge less for a relocate ($400) because it’s not as miserable working conditions. I was just using it as a point of reference. grinding the frame smooth is a bitch.

 

Also if there’s anything I’ve learned from working on so many vehicles, it’s that I suck at quoting how long I think something will take. It’s always longer and shittier than I expect it to be.

 

I'm gonna beat and cut the hell outta of this and if it doesnt work, and you are interested in doing it then, I'll probably hit you up on it.
I'm highly contemplating spending money on an 80, so I've been thinking about that.

Would it be possible to just chop it back to here & relocate the bolt and mount assembly back? Or is the top surface of the bracket here not flat enough to use it for a body mount? Just a thought...it may even be more work yet.

I believe the back of the mount gradually slopes back, so it would probably be more trouble than it’s worth.
