As for passes, the store on Fort Valley usually doesn't have any. If you're looking to go north-to-south, the Exxon in Woodstock usually has them:
    446 W Reservoir Rd, Woodstock, VA 22664

Absolutely agree about airing down and I'm more than happy to join on the PMR run.
However, Blakey ridge is what I'd like to try simply because I haven't done it. If the trees aren't too crazy I can bring my electric chainsaw which has proven itself to be fairly capable.

I dont think you will need the breather mod to hit this trail. I dont think a lift is even required

PMR sounds good. Where and when to meet. Forecast is for rain in pm.

    Blakley ridge also works.

That, or if you want something low profile you could go with a powered duct fan installed in a dryer vent hood (the pipe).

That looks great!!! did that wood suck up the paint?

I told him to throw a rear truss on it as well, but you know he doesn't listen.

Got the Y pipe installed this morning. No real change in sound, I only notice a difference when its between 2 and 3000 rpm and I get on it, but even then it's pretty subtle. Plenty of clearance between the pipe and tranny. It will be tight between the skid and pipe, about 5/8" clearance on the passenger side and 1-1/8" clear on the driver side. I'll notch the skid plate gussets as needed but I think I can make it work. Glad to have the pipe relocation behind me so i can focus on the skid plate now.

    Possible list so far: @Usroadscholar @Tiny's Taco @the.sight.picture @samer312 @Hafaday @03dumdum

Last time I had gone this year Fort Valley didn't have any permits and went without; if they don't have a day permit again on Wednesday I will drive without it again. Not having a issue paying but won't be taking a detour if the store doesn't have it.

Yeah its definitely a shaker at PMR if you don't air down near the Edinburg side. I ran into @the.sight.picture today at Walmart while they were patching my tires and he mentioned that all the NOVA side by side peeps have been destroying it and it got super rocky so airing down for comfort is recommended. Guess we could pack a chainsaw for the Madison/Rapidan area trails. You could lead for Blakey road or get us there also then after PMR.

I dig my electric one at the hunting cabin in the Adirondacks; Taco's have the outlets so if you grab yours we might be good. Seems like the Fort Valley Store has some permit issues lately then.

I don't even recall this mod and had been going through all the puddles with you... guess its something I should look up and more importantly check my rear diff fluid before it gets ground up fine.

Man would be nice to see you around!

    MEETUP QUESTION:

Where is everyone coming from? Me and Nick could meet everyone along the Linden/Front Royal I66 corridor if people are inbound from NOVA and intercept along the route as previously done with FPK earlier this year. Other option is to meet at the Fort Valley Store; I could call this week and see how they are looking on permits. Other options is to somewhat preplan routes and destinations and then see if it would make more sense to enter from Fort Valley or Edinburgh and then come up with a meeting point and time.

Based on the new roads maybe an early meetup around 0900hrs at the latest would make sense. If NOVA peeps are joining then Haymarket that crew is usually a good place. If everyone brings the usual coms then we should be good.

We need to make a quick wiki or doc for coms that lists radio options but channels/frequency etc that overlap so people know what is usually used for group events...

This works for me, I'm coming down from Winchester. Haymarket then out to PMR wouldn't make a lot of sense for me. We could meet in Front Royal off of 66, then head out to grab others if need be. The 7-11 Mobile station maybe?

Let me know when and we’ll go check it out sometime. When you leave Blakey and make a left it’s got signs saying your entering SNP, but you will eventually hit a closed gate so I don’t bother. Blakey has a couple pretty technical off shoots if anyone wants to get squirrelly. If we do Blakey in “reverse” it’s 1 Hr and 15 mins from the fort valley country store. I try to end there and use the air compressor(because I don’t have my own yet)/buy a pass after I’m done wheeling. I’m coming 522>211 through Luray most times but can meet where ever the group is.
