New Frame? Toyota have a recall on the 3rd gen trucks now?

Yep, that is what I was referring to in my post about Toyota not having their shit together. Apparently you'll get a letter if your truck qualifies, and it depends on where you live or where your truck was bought. I don't remember the specifics exactly, but I seem to remember that VA was one of the states. I think there is a thread on it in the 3rd Gen section.

Edit: found one of the threads, looks like it is a corrosion resistant they apply and not a frame replacement (unless it's bad)? Like that glue-looking substance some people have gotten?

this is true... got the letter... called the dealer... they said it would take three weeks to get the “parts for my vin”... they spray a treatment on the frame... parts... sheesh... they never called me back... called them and like a miracle... the “parts” had just arrived... dropped off the Taco... gave me a rental car for two days... just for your SA.

 

You're probably the only person in VA to have it done.

 

if anyone doesnt want to go up there at 9 am, slide into my dms. I see no reason to go that early, and since im a day tripper, it aint that big of a deal to me. We may be heading up around 11am -12.

The reason we normally start that early is so the day trippers don't get back to NoVA late. But I agree. @Tiny's Taco @crashdb Are you two camping or no?

Service Writer said today when I checked for Nick that he needed to call with the VIN as some of the newer ones (newer than my Jan 2018) built dont have a fix.
I had the truck stall out once going up one of the local mountains and it wasn't wheeling related and that was it.

 

I'm in for the trail run and camping. My older son will be along as well.

No on camping. I have to work that night. Later start is ok, if I can be home between 3 & 4. Its two a hour drive back from FPK.
