You can always use some high jackstands or ramps and a creeper? Not ideal, but given the stock height and getting more, it shouldnt be too cramped. I have jackstands and a creeper if needed feel free to borrow.

I should've given some context to fabrication shop, this being a truck forum and such. Sorry for letting that hang.

Shop is off Willard Rd., opposite side of Walney from the Expo center and such. OEC Engineering Corporation.

We mostly work in the Architecture/Construction industry with ornamental finish details. We also do low volume fabrication and prototyping for clients. We don't do much work on vehicles, no lift or tools for that type of work here.

We have a Waterjet with a 5'x10' envelope and it's the workhorse around here. Lots of stainless/aluminum/steel cutting, along with ballistic glass, reg glass, stone,tile... You name it, it'll cut it.
We have a welding shop with MIG/TIG/Oxy, plasma cutter, stud welder etc. Mill/Lathes/CNC machines, nice bandsaw, mics metal finishing tools, 3d printers.

I'm personally a car nut and I've done some work in the industry with roll cage fabrication and worked for a race team for a bit. Following that I worked in various rolls in the construction industry and built craft breweries and distilleries doing sanitary stainless welding amongst other things. Here at OEC I run the shop and, being a small company, do a bit of everything from programming CNC machines to welding and fab.

If I can make a business case for making some Tacoma parts I'd be all about it. Particularly if I can convince my boss to let me use my truck as a guinea pig! Current situation I find myself in, as good a problem as it may be, is that I have more work than I can handle. I've been prioritizing higher margin jobs, as one does, generally in the commercial construction industry.

Please feel free to share some things you might want to see made. If I can't produce something personally, I can usually line people up with those that can locally. I always wanted to make my own front bumper but I won't have the time in this instance.

    -Steve

Thanks Steve for the breakdown. That is nice that you have a CNC machine! That would be pretty cool if you ever were able to get into front bumper designs...I bet you could make a market for a prerunner style type of bumper as it seems non existent for those type of bumpers here on the east. I work at an engineering firm as well only we do design work, would be cool to check out your establishment sometime.

Not much purpose for prerunner style bumpers here. They don't tend to stand up very well against rocks/boulders and not many high speed sand places around here.

Yea that is very true, still it could be a niche worth taping into.

I would love to get my hands on a CAD file of the front/rear of the trucks. Doesn't have to be super extensive. I've been meaning to measure and model my truck without it's bumpers but that's a very time consuming process. I have a little handheld 3d scanner but it's nowhere close to accurate enough for this type of thing.

Going from a model to a product is cake. Trying to replicate something you've hammered and shaped and shaved a 1/16th off here or moved a 1/4" there, get's tough when it comes to repetition.

Baja bumpers would be fun. With the equipment I have I'm best equipped to make plate style bumpers. I haven't bent tubes in a few years, I'm pretty rusty. Would be fun though.

I'd be happy to have you out sometime.

Def sounds like some fun stuff, you know...a cool rear plate bumper could be a nice thing to make as well. I will have to take you up on that sometime.

So... First let me say, bummer! I hate that intersection, and have to go through it way to often, as I live in Purcellville. Second, if you are willing to get the work down in Purcellville, give Terry's a call at http://www.terrysbodyshop.com/. They worked with me a few times, and are pretty flexible.

Hey guys, I'm selling my red magnetic Mob Armor phone mount if anyone is interested in it. It's the small size, fits an iPhone 5/5s. Still in great condition and I have an extra mounting disk.

Asking $35 shipped or $30 local pick up. (DC metro area)
