Decent specs except the video card.

Ryzen 5000 processors were released last month, but basically unavailable. They're a pretty good uplift in performance over the 3000 processors. Current gen graphics cards are the Nvidia 3000 and Radeon 6000 series, but again they're out of stock everywhere unless you want to way overpay from a scalper.

My friend gave me the video card for free, so I'm not complaining. He just started a new build and he got lucky and snatched up a Ryzen 5000 from Amazon the other day. I'm hoping he'll get a new video card and I'll end up with his old one again!

I can wait for supply to catch up. I don't have the time to game. I just did this because my 10-year old Asus laptop was on its way out. It was cheaper than buying another laptop with higher stats.

I got a refurb Think Pad for the garage. I love it. It's the 2nd one I've had for out there. Both of them have been durable for a business laptop. The older one still works, it was just getting outdated and slow.

My pc build was for the same reason. My old HP laptop was on its way out. I may pick up new gen processor and graphics card next year if I think I need to performance upgrade. Maybe wait for the next generation releases.

Also, meant to ask, what speed ram you're running.. AMD processors like fast ram (3200+).

Couldn't tell yea.. the only emails I have set up to get are DM/PM/conversations (think they are all the same thing). Other than that, I just check in here every few days and see if I have any alerts, or to catch up.

That's nearly fuck it money building a PC unless you're the custom loop water cooling type or need the full setup with monitor an all... Is this for gaming or dev or rendering in any way? Mixed use? If doing gaming, what resolution and refresh you targeting?

My only real critique of that build is I'd do Gigabyte Aorus Ultra 100x over Asus who has absolute shit customer service. I have the Z390 Ultra and it's been absolutely rock solid. I also find top end air cooling for the CPU superior to any AIO because I haven't had one last more than 3 years and the performance is nearly comparable. Problem is I'm talking Noctua D15 or Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 and not the options they have that I'm not as sure would be comparable.

Though really, Intel is supposedly releasing 11th gen in like 3 weeks so you might want to hold off if Intel is your preference over Ryzen 5000. It's going to be just as difficult to find as the stuff currently but at least then you'll get the performance gains.

I had bought a ton of fluidfilm and used it on my saltwater above ground pool more than my vehicles like i had planned. How many 3rd gen owners coated their trucks underneath? maybe I should order another set of cans and go for it.

Is the frame rusting still an issue for the latest model years or did they fix it at some point? Wondering if this is something I need to be concerned about.

I have not and have been considering for quite some time now. I'd be up to driving to your place and covering costs to do so. Let me know.

Evidently it is as there's a current campaign through Toyota to have rust proofing applied to the frame and if you so choose not to get it done after being notified it will void that part of the warranty. You will receive notification in the mail if your truck is part of the campaign. Once receiving that letter I think there's a two year window to get it done. I dropped mine off at Oursiman Chantilly Toyota, they gave me a loaner car for $5, and had it done by the end of the day. The entire process was super smooth and quick.

I haven't seen anything yet from Toyota but I suspect they're targeting the older trucks first.
