What if I first disconnect the battery to clear the code and see if the check engine light comes back on? I know it sounds kind of bush league, but part of me wonders if the check engine light came on from being on an incline or something temporary like that.

It'll clear the codes, but the light isn't instantaneous like they used to be. The ECU has to assess that the component has gone outside set parameters a certain number of times before the light will come on. You can definitely try it, but I have doubts it'll work.

Disconnected the battery and cleared the code, then warmed the car up in the driveway and drove it 2 or 3 miles. So far no check engine light and cruise control is working again, but we'll see if it comes back on the next couple times it's driven.

At the hospital today. Dad is SO much better today than when I saw him Saturday. Much more alert. Sitting up and able to feed himself. Did really well with his therapy this morning too.
Doctors may move him to Winchester rehab center this evening or tomorrow. My brother's wife works there and said right now they have zero covid cases...so, perfect timing!

    Y'all stay safe!

ps. He's still gaining more feeling in his left arm & leg too

Went to advanced auto parts and this is what the code reader pulled. Will look it up when I get home.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I kicked myself out of the garage to build a table for wood working. After I took the tonneau cover off to put the rack on. Now I don't have the option.

Believe me, i've had those kind of thoughts before. I have a few inches of mud and dirt caked onto the mid skid, I think I need to take the skid off and clean everything up and see if that helps. After a little more research it's apparently the passenger side O2 sensor, which is in the URD Y pipe I recently put in. Maybe it just needs to be tightened up or worst case replaced.

Something may have gotten up there and torn out a wire. A bad sensor typically throws another code.

Definitely could be if you were screwing around and it popped. Either way I'd pick up one of these... solid little unit that does all the body modules and everything too. I keep mine in the center console because Jeep Things (TM)
