I’ve been looking for a different rear. I’m debating on getting one from a raptor for the width and an elocker. They are 9.75” I think and a lot cheaper than a Currie or ox.
I’ve also thought about an independent rear configuration.
The worlds your oyster now that you are forced into more work!

So what's a good rule of thumb for transmission temps (in a 3rd gen with towing package)...just got the ultragauge in Thursday afternoon, Friday driving home temps were getting up to 203°F then leveling back down into the 181-195 range. I want to set an alert, but didn't know what it should alert at...

According to a Google search, 200 is the higher end of normal operation for an auto transmission. Not sure if that applies to Tacoma’s though.

    post pictures of the audit...

for real though, that actually would be pretty unique. But what would be the overall benefit besides becoming a large 4 door sxs?

Some ground clearance, travel not limited to driveshaft range of motion, lighter, more planted/less twisting motion on flex

I want more up travel in the rear and need to remove the frame above the axle to achieve this. So if I’m going to rebuild the rear end configuration again to achieve more up travel, Id like to go over all the options.

What's the difference in up travel in the rear compared to the front?

Like how much do I have up front compared to the rear? Really don’t know. I have about 5” of shaft exposed on a 8” shock up front and about 8” in the back on a 16” shock. Up front I’m limited by the inner fender apron.

So we are cutting the front inner fender apron up also? Replacing with tube right? Just bolt the fenders to that

Sounds about right. I’d like to move the upper and lower control arms forward a bit.
