    Correct.

The amount of money you have to put into an m1 or m1a to make it function like an ar10 is stupid. Just buy the AR10.

Pistols have shitty ballistics, which is why the uzi or mac 10/11 also suck.

But, they are all pretty fucking neat.

Thanks. I'll be working in DCA, I was referring to the 6 promotion lists that are sitting on someone's desk at OSD waiting for signature, haha. Ultimately, I will be coming back to VA within the next few months regardless...I'm either getting promoted and working in DCA or retiring.

That retiring option seems hard to pass up.

The forever money from taking a promotion to pad the pension makes it worth it. Barely, but worth it...

If you do retire, let me know. The contractor side of life is pretty smooth and can pad your retirement easy peasy. Most folks are working from home permanently from what I can tell. My hallways are empty on both sides of the workforce.

Well, now we know why we are all out here waiting for things to get signed! :D

All kidding aside, I appreciate the offer! If I was not worthy of selection this year, I will be on terminal by May.

Yeah, it's politics at a certain rank. Many MA's (O6) types and such are enjoying the other side because they get to work from home now. I am going to admit that it's been tough to get packages through with the lack of "supervision." And, I'm talking about Cong reports, DoD instructions, GAO, etc.!! I mean....how do we fail so many financial audits 6 years running now?!?

Dunno. But it wouldn’t be an AK if it wasn’t stamped sheet metal, sloppy built and rattles. That’s what makes it what it is… just plain works. Who needs stinking tight tolerances?.

    Right rite.

That said, I have not had my hands on a modern (today’s off the shelf built) AK. I have no idea if the build quality is the same or not. So, my comparisons would be nil if I was asked.

Oddly, I only have experience with Chinese and Russian manufacturer versions and if they were built with tight tolerances they wouldn't work in the conditions they're often used in. I like to call them the shotgun of assault rifles.
