Northern Virginia Roll Call

Yea, the stock one that I bought off the original owner. That one has a beautiful frame & undercarriage. Head is off but it's fully machined & rebuilt by a reputable machine shop so the motor needs reassembled. Since I moved to my cabin full time I no longer have a garage to wrench in. And here in WV SxS's are street legal so I'm having fun with that, my yotas just sit.

 

Ahh, if I had a shop, I would. Townhouse life isn't that great though. Hopefully soon I can get out (aka 5-6 more years). I am interested in the other one. Hows the frame? I don't really mind body rust. Hopefully I wont need to work on it every weekend.

 

It’s tired, leans to the left and wanders on the road quite a bit. It actually does pretty well off road. I really didn’t need the lockers or 4Lo for that matter at flag pole. I was pretty impressed. Can’t wait to take it back out with the new suspension, steering dampers, links, etc. The new suspension will be about the same lift but going to a Dobinson kit from the OMEs so it should ride better all around.

 

I've had this 80 for about 6years now and only issue I've had is brake line leaking on 2 different occasions. It does need a muffler, it's a little loud. Very rear portion of the frame where the bumper mounts has rust. The motor runs good, doesn't burn oil & no fluid leaks. $3500 obo. I just don't need it anymore.

 

Nice 80! Can't beat a old solid axle yota. Ive got 2 80's but since i bought a sxs i lost interest in them. I see you're also in WV, I'm in the mountains of Great Cacapon.

 

Any good wheeling spots out your way for those of us driving land yachts?

 

Yea. I've hosted a few TacomaWorld Trail-Camping-Shooting-BBQ'ing meets up here. I've also showed fellow TW members some nice secluded river side campsites.

 

Sounds nice, would love to tag along on the next one.
