Howdy folks, I’m looking at a new (to me) Tacoma that’s currently in Manassas ….but I live up in NH.

Do any of you in the area have a recommendation for a mechanic to do an independent inspection before I decide to buy?

I’m just a little uneasy buying a truck so far away and don’t want to make two trips if I can avoid it. Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask. Thank you!

I drove by and checked out a truck for someone in MA @Blais03. But i wouldn't know enough for a mechanic inspection. Maybe @crashdb can take a look for you?

Or post some pictures so we can look at the frame?

This one? I don't want to scare you off, but the location of that dealer is a cluster of shitty used car dealers. I don't have any experience with that one, but with what I know about the area, you may not get much in the way of customer service.

I don't have any experience with this shop, but I've heard good things about them. It's owned by an in-law of one of the dudes here.

Maybe toss the VIN into Carfax and get the history report. That might help with the decision as well.

 

Weird. That didn't come up for me. I got the one I posted and then another one in Fredericksburg that was similar.

Nice looking truck and a decent price to boot! If that one falls through, allow me to shamelessly plug another one since you are in the market. I'm likely selling mine in the next few months...just haven't decided whether or not I'm returning it to stock or selling as is. Mine is similar to the one you are looking at; '22 TRD Off Road 4x4 M/T, fully loaded, 16K miles on the ODO, MGM color. I modified the truck shortly after buying it, but it has never been offroad.
