I've got a 6 speed. I've been told by numerous folks that putting an auto start on a manual, besides being dangerous as hell I know, is also illegal. It's a drawback to having a car that you can actually shift. I hate it in traffic and the clutch squeaks like hell but I've been driving manuals since I learned to drive. Not giving it up yet.

And hope you had a good bday man!

Is anyone feel very adept at installing shocks such as Bilstein 5100's at a meet or something? Because I'm thinking of getting Bilstein 5100's in the front (1.75") and in the rear as well as new tires sometime in the relatively near future and thought doing it myself would save a ton in labor.

It won't be anytime real soon but was just putting a feeler out so I could plan anything if I wanted to.

    Thanks, Matt

If you know of someplace where we could get together and work on your truck, when you're ready post up and host a mod day :) I'm sure several guys would want to come out and help out. I've got tools and limited knowledge I can bring along.

Yeah Jeremy (forgot his tw name), SManZ, Namyo, and myself put on my ULK and Jeremys OME lift. I was just basically dumb labor and did what I was told  Jeremys required spring compressors but my coilovers were preassembled so mine was a bit faster to install.

If all I was doing was installing Bilstein's on all 4 corners in the way I said in my above post, would I need a spring compressor or anything? I'm assuming this install isn't the most complicated but is it considered relatively difficult? (Not expert on suspension/cars by any means here)

    Thanks, Matt

That dude moved to the sticks and stopped coming in TW :( I see his hunting vids on utube....him uses dogs to chase bears up trees :spy:
Most times the billies need a spring compressor...use ether stock springs or new ones...you may be able to pay a lil extra for pre-assembled...may be worth it too ;)

^^this. Chasing bears? Uh, no thanks.
If you want to swap out your stock billys and put in 5100s it shouldnt be too bad just not a fan of spring compressors. At least not the kind I've seen used before that looks like two giant screw clamps. They look a little dangerous to me.
If you get the ones that are already set up you will pay more. So for me I went with convenience over price. I have the ULK I like the adjustability, I've already notched mine down a bit to relieve some stress on the CV boots. If you ever want to take a look at how mine is set up let me know and we can meet up somewhere. You're not too far from me.
Do you have the TSB rear leafs? If not you should look at getting an add-a-leaf for the rear if you lift the front you might have the reverse rake or "bro lean" as some call it.

I can only offer a few tools and an extra pair of hands. It may be easiest to just take the stock coilovers out, take them to a local shop and get the shocks switched out. If someone who is more experienced can help with the spring compressor then you can save some money.
