I kind of want to make a Lowes run and have you with me so you can show me how to mock this up.... those T nuts in the rail -> and a bolt going to some flat metal, and some long bolts in the back of the metal that go through the boards and a wing nut holds them all in?

    Does that sound right?

The above part is an @Iggy switch panel.

The other thing is the Tnut with the spring removed, some aluminum flat bar, and a bolt that matches the thread pattern of the Tnut. @Lots2Learn58 showed me, and is pretty easy to set up. But yours sounds right

It wasn't my idea, I read it somewhere but they are cheaper, work perfect and easy to find!

I've got the same panel. Love it! Reminds me that I have some newer illuminated switches I need to get installed along with my bed light kit.

Anyone know if the OME kits STILL get those horrible clanks/clunks, or has that been resolved by OME?

Clanks and Clunks...? Yeah, I'd like to know more about that since I am looking at that kit.

Seems like some people have the clunk with the front, others out back. I saw one guy said his was only because the sway bar was bumping the suspension in front. It's confusing to say the least since the issue is not universal.

That is disconcerting, going to have an keep an eye on that. Thanks for mentioning it, I would have never known there was an issue.

I thought that the clunk from OME was the shock bottoming out inside itself, when going over speed bumps. At least thats what I remember when i had mine. Now @Lots2Learn58 has my old stuff.

I am not too sure.... the wife found some pretty nice new build townhouses there for around the $400k mark. I think we're going to head down there this weekend or next and talk to them

maybe we can both get together and figure it out.... you would think 3 reasonably intelligent grown men can find a way to mount 2 recovery boards in a bed. haha

nice! I'd be curious to play around with it and see how well it works.... because I want to do a shovel / quickfist on one side, the boards on the front rail and a high lift jack on the other side of the bed

can you elaborate? I am still relatively new to the Tacoma bed rail system / T nuts in general

I havnt really heard much about clanks and stuff from the OME kit as it seems pretty popular among many on the east coast. I too would be curious where these issues might arise from. From what I understand it is a great budget lift kit that is pretty reliable.

I am selling a tool mount for the bed rail. It uses a different way to attach to the bedrail. It uses a carriage bolt. I am taking pictures for another guy later today, and I can show you those after I take them.

That is definitely the most prevalent "clunk" that I've seen mentioned. How bad is it really? And is it fixable or do you just have to deal with it?
