ive heard of that too, mainly for things like ARs but i guess you have to be 21 here because of the pistol grip, i forget what the law to buy an AR is.

i agree though, i most likely wouldnt open carry, people would not be very comfortable and it would most likely cause tension when you are in a public place. i dont think a gun should be seen until the point where you actually need to use it.
yeah its weird how they make some of the laws.

Most laws are made in Fear and Ignorance in response to a minority incident or a public outrage.

At 17 you may think "open carry" sounds great...but, let me assure you that in my opinion it is absolutely one of the dumbest things you can do.

It draws unwanted attention, will make many people in public extremely uncomfortable, will undoubtedly draw unwanted attention from law enforcement, etc. I would highly suggest waiting until you can obtain your CCW permit.

Concealed carry is the only responsible way to carry a firearm in a non-threatening environment.

I can attest to the the unwanted attention. Too many times have I seen ignorant people contact LEO then ridiculous situations occur and businesses tell the patrons to leave.

Simple YouTube vid search for Open carry will show you the horrible situations people are put in.

If you have the tolerance for the stupidity, by all means.

I open carry, and concealed carry, depends on my venue, what I'm wearing. If I open carry, it's almost always a retention holster. I'm mostly a pancake holster untucked button up kinda guy, but also own a few IWB holsters. I have never been harassed for carrying open. I see both sides of the argument. The more people that carry open, the more the public will get used to it. I guess your demeanor, your appearance make a big difference. I have not open carried since I grew my beard. I normally am clean shaven and wear a high and tight. Even with all the tattoos I look respectable because of being clean cut... So that may help also.

To each their own.. Just be responsible. And be nice, always be nice... Till it is time to no longer be nice.

By the time I'm able to carry my uncle will be home from deployment, most of the time when I'm out and about I'm with him and he open carrys despite him having his concealed permit. I suppose it's because we live in a country town with the exception of W&L but no one seems to even notice a group of guys with guns walking around. Just about everyone here open carrys and I've never heard of any issues. Really depends on your environment I guess.

that is true too, a lot of it depends on where you are too. some places might see it and not think of it, where if you were in the middle of DC it might be a completely different story. If i was back home at one of the local shopping areas it might make people uncomfortable because its more of a family town with a lot of commuters to DC who arent used to it. I would say that it might be better in harrisonburg but with all the JMU students who think guns are evil they would probably go crazy...

I was thinking about getting this style. They're pretty much OEM looking with the exception of the black. I already have a buyer for my OEM taillights, so I may buy the eBay, install them, and spray some water or something and see if they leak before I actually send out my OEM ones.

On the other hand, I've seen guys on here with the same ones and said they've had no problems.

I've heard horror stories about how bad the eBay headlights are, but I haven't heard anything bad about the eBay taillights.

I may start a thread here in a minute asking all eBay taillight owners to give me some advice.
