Coming up on 3 years for my stock battery. I like to be proactive with older batteries before they screw me over ... so what batteries are you guys running?

 

I've ran Optima yellow tops. They have failed on me though but pepboys has a good return policy and I walk in with it and they hand me the new one.

 

Sears Die-Hard. I've used them for decades and they've never let me down.

 

I ran an Optima Red top on my Jeep and never had an issue at ANY mall I went to.

what's the main difference in the yellow and red top?

 

I've also heard good things about Duralast batteries

 

Red top is essentially a oem replacement without running accessories but still able to mount at any angle where the yellowtop is more of a high performance battery to power accessories

 

ahh... well maybe I'll end up running a yellow top... especially since I'll have a few lights and the winch running off of it as well

 

That's what I run... no issues.

 

I ran a yellowtop in my 4runner with hids and 2 12's and it worked perfect. Back in the highschool days.

 

That 4Runner is much cooler than your truck now.... vintage is everything lol

 

Plus I hear their warranty is unsurpassed

that thing is sweet looking! in high school I had an old burgundy Bronco w/ a 302 on 33 super swampers haha...

I've heard that Optima's aren't nearly as good as they were 10+ years ago.
