    Good Afternoon,

I picked up an X2 Power battery (Northstar Rebranded) yesterday. Upon installing it, I noticed the negative terminal was loose. It would ever so slightly rotate clockwise/counterclockwise. This would create an intermittent voltage and in some cases I would lose voltage altogether. I was not sure if the SAE posts were threaded or not, but took the plunge and found out they were. It turns out it was just loose and after tightening it, it works fine. Here is the info part:

I called and spoke with Engineering at Northstar Battery. He informed me that the SAE posts should be torqued down to around 14 ft/lb. He said that you can even put locktite on the threads if needed. Additionally, he said that there are three levels of sealing to prevent any corrosion on their terminals. He said the threads are in no way a voltage contact point, and that the bottom of the SAE post coming in contact with the lower brass bushing is the contact point hence the 14 ft/lb or torque.

I just thought I would pass on my experience with them and say how impressed I was with their support and knowledge.
