Does it hurt anything to take them off? I mean they're there for a purpose I guess...I just hear so many different things about them

I removed them on my 08 when one got smashed on a rock and I never ran into any issues. Its a dust shield that loves to catch and hold rocks. It happened a few times on my 08 when I would play in mud.

I wouldn't go out of my way to disassemble my front end to remove them right now but next time my CVs need to come out, ill remove them.

My dust shields just barely kiss the spindles... I don't see why it would be an issue to keep them on :notsure:

Im not saying its an issue but I am saying they may need some attention and to do it while installing.

Removing them just makes that possible issue dissapear. :)

My spindles from Cali Fab came in yesterday, they are BEAST. Welds are incredible too, probably be a few weeks before I have time to put them on, midterms are going on this week and crazy work schedule next week.

Also went wheeling with @bobsuruncle and @Usethe2nd today, props to Bob for all the pics! Very muddy, he actually destroyed his factory gas tank skid in the ruts

    This showed up yesterday IMG_6203.jpg
Finally can go camping again! (Not that i have much time to right now..)

And now for the bad.. New noise up front, sounds like a brush is on my front drive shaft and brushes against my skid plate when ever I turn, hopefully just sitting over night it went away but if not ill be dropping the skids and see what the hell it is. Started when I turned into my neighborhood so I wasn't doing anything hard.
Also might have broke a tooth off the ring and pinion.. Heard a noise last time I was out with @bobsuruncle at the start, heard it one time before so have to drain the diff oil and see if any chunks are on the magnetic plug.. Ugh.

Determined that noise is my shot u joint that I need to replace ASAP. Get that done next weekend, then do some camping! Bed bars are so much better

Least you figured out what the noise was. And its not terribly expensive/hard to fix.

Im liking those bed bars the more I see them. Still going between them and the relentless ones though.

Yeah I'm glad I found it. Hopefully going to do them next weekend.

I love them. The only downside I've found of them now is you can see out the rear window, and it may be a bit harder to tuck the tent in by the rear window. But other than that I like it

Headlights will probably be done in a few weeks after RT, not a big deal to me.

Also just ordered a 230 piece craftsman tool set half off through Sears. Now I'll have every socket I need to work on the truck and comes in a nice case. Also ordered extensions
    image.jpg

Never get moog tie rods.. Mine were shot within 1000 miles and truck is scary to drive now. Also need to put my new u joints after finals are over next week and the truck will be set.
    image.jpg

And LT will be ordered in the next month or 2
