How do you like that rear setup man? And what length are those Icons? 10"?

It's really nice, a little bouncy with no weight in the bed though. They are the OEM replacement shocks VS 2.0 good for up to 2" of lift. My ride height is at about 3" with the spare carrier and bed rack, so I am upgrading to King 12" with the BAMF shock relocation kit.

Eventually I will get some hydro bumps, the Timbrens are good enough to prevent negative arc on the leafs but not a real bump stop.

Cool man. I'm thinking about the same rear setup as you have going there. I was going to try and get by with 10" icons but I might as well do it right and get some 12" shocks and a relocation kit while I'm at it.

totally. the kit is so cheap, and you can get 12" Kings for the same price as the Icons pretty much.

    Nice setup!
I'm going to be purchasing the All Pro Pack Rack and the Tepui Autana Tent this spring and I was just curious as to how you had your Tepui Kukenam mounted to the All Pro rack. Did you use u-bolts?

    Thanks!

Great choice on the Tepui .. you won't be disappointed.

If your All-Pro rack comes as the bolt together model (not sure if they still make them that way) it's worth your time to get it welded before coating it. Mine started rusting at the joints after about 2 weeks.

I mounted the Kukenam, and my Ayer, with the regular bolts and flat metal plates that came with the kit. The bolts are just long enough for the AP rack. I haven't had any issues with the flat plate on a round bar - the aluminum handles the stress well even when romping through the desert.

U-bolts would not work because the Hex head on the bolts slide into a channel on the tent, locking the bolt head in place so the nut can be tightened. I can get pics later to clear it up if you want, but basically the only option would be using half of a pipe clamp on the bottom side of the rack. My local HW store only had the cheapy ones:

Definitely not strong enough to hold 100lbs, IMO.
I found some stronger stainless ones, not sure if you can get the right size though:

What would be really nice is a fabbed block of aluminum to hold the bottom, something like half of this clamp:

I get what your saying about the Ubolts. That makes sense. I just wasn't sure exactly how the tent mounted. I get the idea now though. Thanks!
That fab'd up mount option you mentioned would be a good idea for sure.

I was definitely planning on getting the rack welded up once I received it just so it would be solid. I hadn't even though about it rusting at the joints until you mentioned it. Thanks!

If it's not offered as bolt together anymore I wonder how bad shipping is going to hurt my back pocket. I need to give them a call and see.
*edit* I called them, it's still bolt together.

Thanks for the clarification on the tent mounting. I wanna be sure before my bank account takes a pounding haha!

Yeah man. Only thing is I don't know how to weld for the relocation kit haha. Do you have a link for the shocks you will be going with?

Upgraded the rear to be.. umm... "more" MT :D

BAMF diy shock relocation kit - King 12" x 2.0 smoothies, remote resi with comp adjusters

Speed Freek did an awesome install of this relocation kit and shocks for me. I couldn't be happier with the quality and OEM look of running 12s, these things are solid.

I bought the kit in pieces and had Jason complete the build:

aww damn.. I was about to post my best buff as shit self portrait too :pout:

Thanks! No valving changes yet .. I have some learnin' to do now :D
Sonny knew about the BAMF kit and ordered valving for my application, plus said I could get it changed if I need to.

I guess the valving is also a little lighter than usual since I have the comp adjusters which supposedly almost lockout all shock travel at the firmest setting. I had it right in the middle for the drive home last night and I've never felt a freeway that was so smooth before
