I read @Rattletrap66 and @dakotasyota threads on the Ford shock towers and 63 swap, but it looks like they all either run a dcsb or at least maintained the same wheelbase. I just don't know how far forward I could move the rear axle using 63s

I don't think it's too expensive to get my ds shortened at a shop. I would really like to get to a 132" wheelbase ideally. 140.9" right now I'm pretty sure. Run that on 37s would be still long, but perfect for me

holy moly 37 hahaha hope your ready to tub that firewall!! I was always under the impression the short bed vs long bed was just less frame behind the axle but everything else was the same, now access cab vs double cab would have a shorter wheel base

    I'm ready! Haha!

The dcsb and AC share the same frame/wheelbase. The dclb has its own frame

Why not just make a tank to fit the flat bed. Any local fab shop should be able to make a tank.

Would definitely be nice to get some extended range. I just didn't know if it would be easily possible to move the tank forward.

I feel like the dclb will look perfect on 37s. Is a ways down the road though .First have to get my 4.88 and lockers .Then tub/body mount relocate. Then get 37s when my 35s wear out. Finally do the 63 swap and flatbed. Unless shortening the wheelbase is going to be crazy challenging, I may do the 63 swap sooner and keep the same wheel base.

I won't be able to afford this for a long time though. Should hopefully get gears and lockers this year depending on how well our store does this summer.

I'm running 63s but if you just Bob the rear frame you should be good

I'm more interested in shortening my wheelbase than my over all length. Break over angle is brutal right now. Been high centered so many times, probably my biggest limiting factor on this truck.

I agree! Follow the footsteps of another BC local here, @VanCity4x (@mona_the_tacoma on instagram). He's actually now doing a 6L LQ4 swap on his sas Tacoma on 40s

Yea I just realized you have a long bed . That I'm not sure of . May have to relocate your gas tank to the inside of the bed . But I have a friend with a long bed I'll try and look at it and see what I can figure out and get some ideas

Thanks! Plain and simple, which I like. And relatively cheap! Procomp 7069, 16x8, 4" BS, -12 offset.
