Yea, all this kinda makes sense, if you don't think about it too much.. but last month I hauled an 8x10 trailer full of pea gravel from Seattle to Sebring and averaged 29.9 mpg on 33's with a roof rack. And before anyone says anything, yes, I calculated it..
YYMV, but to be honest, it's all about buying top tier gas (93 octane, of course) and really knowing your vehicle.

I won't act like your high school math teacher and say "Unless you show me the math, I won't believe your answer". I know these trucks are capable of good MPG's. But I have never subscribed to the "higher octane make it run better" theory.

I say this because I have never bought anything higher than 87 octane for my truck, and I always achieved 20-21MPG for the tank average (not a trip average). Now I won't debate your way of thinking or say that it's good or bad.

Also windows up or down, A/C on?

You DIDN'T get 25.4mpg. The truck's computer lies. I can trick it on my truck to show you whatever I want it to show you. Tank average is bullshit.

Wait, you had distance and fuel used data... DOESN'T MATTER, YOU FUCKING WELL BETTER SHOW US THE FUELLY OR AT LEAST THREE TANKS WORTH OF HAND CALCULATED DATA.

    Fuck TW sucks sometimes :der:

Thanks for the info OP ;)

Not much to add to the thread since I get shit mpg and have learned to live with it. But I did get a good laugh out of this. Guilty as charged here

I have a fan plugged in, blowing on the bed bulkhead; easily gets an additional 5mpg.

Only an 11 mile ride - but I was doing the freeway at 75~78 mph -
I'll take 21.9 anytime in this truck.

Wife averages 26.5 driving city in the Subaru but I've seen that even higher.

Stock tires, Toyota 0-20, 33psi. Air conditioner on. Windows up and down, depending.

I hand calculated the data on the back of a used piece of DA sandpaper in my shop last night. I WILL TAKE A FUCKING PIC OF IT TONITE!
